Tuning with HP Tuners???

I'm thinking that too, taking into account 1 atm. Here's a screenshot. This was a decent WOT 1-2 and 2-3 run.
It's not a waste of time if I'm trying to learn about what's going on and to at least establish a baseline.

I pretty much made up my mind that I am going to give HP Tuners a try (with a lot of support from a good friend with a lot more exp than me). I already have HP Tuners and it is only 100 bucks to unlock the XSport......so why not.

I'm planning on keeping it 2 bar as well b/c I'm not too concerned about getting the last 4% of performance out of it @ 6,500 rpm. If the tables are easy enough to rescale, I may get a 3 bar MAP but we'll see how it goes with 2 bar.

I will be running a MDesign intake, 1 step cooler plugs, the 170 t-stat and plan on running 93 octane only.

I will keep everyone posted.

Good luck!  This would be my preferred method.  Even if I bought a tune (unlocked so that I could still manipulate), I'd want it loaded via HPT.

I'm curious to see how much the fuel trims change if at all with the MDesign. After I saw the report here that there was only a 3 hp difference between not running an intake at all vs the stock airbox, I'm pretty much leaning to keep the stock airbox and paper filter.

Also, I'd be curious to see the Turbo Massflow readings with your air intake and the rest of the tune. I used VCM scanner to record that PID, and plotted it on a table with RPM vs load. With the stock airbox and filter, my peak average massflow is 37.3 lb/min but the highest was 38.9 lb/min.

Its not 4%..if you run high enough boost that warrants having a 3 bar map sensor you will have much more than a 4% gain

There are no tables to rescale for a 3 bar tune....2 values is all....sub in the tip slope and intercept in the map location slope and intercept...thats it for fueling....now you still need to adjust things to raise boost but you would do that as well even using the stock map sensor but with increased boost
