Step one prior to flashing the vehicle I’ll need the vehicle strategy read. You will do this in the vehicle info menu then read vehicle info. Write this information down and email it to me. torrie@fastpartsnetwork.com


VEHICLE INFO MENU
This menu allows you to read and clear
diagnostic trouble codes found in the vehicle
PCM. This menu also allows you to read the
vehicle’s strategy for custom tuning. If a
“check engine” light or “service engine soon”
light appears on your dash, you can check
and clear the codes, which should reset the
PCM and remove the lights.


Read Vehicle Info
To read the Vehicle Info for custom tuning or for tech support, select the Vehicle Info sub-menu. You will be prompted to turn the ignition key ON and the device
will automatically read the vehicle strategy. Make a note of the strategy once it
appears and keep for your records.

Also send me the device serial number as well, its stamped onto the back of the programmer.

Do I need a windows based computer to load tunes and stuff? I only have Mac computers right now. I read the directions you posted and didn't see anything specifying it.

Also... Will it work on a bootcamp (Windows) partition or in an emulator like Parallels on a Mac?

You mac guys need to wait for the X4 No more having to touch a computer to update the device, hopefully you can pull down tunes as well with it.

Windows environment will be needed for the X3 and livewire TS. iTSX works with IOS via ipad / iphone / ipod.

So I assume the X4 will be the same? I plan on ordering the X4 around the 1st when I get paid. Well one more step in the process to figure out. If I come to pick it up from you could you load the tunes for me onto the device? And if you do and I pick up a windows computer later  would still be able to use it on the new computer ( it dosnt lock to a computer just the car)?

From what I am being told right now yes. I can load the device here.

So does x4 mean no laptop needed in car at all, even for datalogging?

I believe what they are trying to do with the X4 is to make the device much easier to use for in vehicle datalogging without a laptop yes.
