Using Methanol Injection without Tuning

Is it safe to spray 100% methanol injection without tuning for it? I currently have the LMS 3-bar tune and I want to spray meth but LMS will only tune their own kit. I don't want to spend that much money on their kit so my question is will I see good gains at the track and still be safe if I do not have a tune?

I am new to the Meth world so any input would be appreciated.

Others can give you more information regarding safety.... Which I believe is fine with stock tune.
However, without a tune the gains will be much less than if the ECM is optimized for the meth.... This could effectively negate any savings by making the cost/ increased WHP excessive.

FYI, I am not running meth.

With METH being not only expensive to purchase and install and maintaine and of course it has its upside also by keeping the chambers clean and etc,in my opinion would rather upgrade to bigger turbo's for example 4DRHTRD SUPPLIES or LIVERNOIS,and probably come out cheaper in the long run, just my 2cent if your looking for an alternative for performence.

You could run 100% water to cool the air, provided you can keep the water cool enough.  Of course you couldn't use the setup when outside temps below freezing.

Running 100% meth would not help.  It would be like a bunch of extra fuel without tuning for it.

Meth is only 4$ a gallon here. a meth kit is 400$? buying a sct x4 429$.  Seems to be allot cheaper to get a different tuner than upgraded turbos ($2400 for turbos alone?+installation $1,000+dyno tuning since there likely is not a off the shelf tune for upgraded turbos) even if you do not install the kit your self.

Ecoboost bob would fill his windshield washer reservoir up with meth once a month, is what he told me.

I was referring to LMS tune with there meth kit ant tune alone and to put it in prospective if its installed at there facility also.

Thanks for the input, looks like I might just go with DP's for now. I am very happy with my tune so not really interested in changing.

Nope. You will run worse.

I'm kind of confused as why people think they will run worst without a tune?  Without a tune you will not be able to extract all the power potential, but run worse? Why?

How can dropping intake charges up to 20 deg's is going to make it run worse? Don't worry about over fueling, that's what the wide band o2's are for; the car will reduce the duty cycle of the hpfp. I know meth has less btu's but I amagine the cooler charge more than compensates for the energy reduction.

Open discussion....

Oh I am sure you can run meth without a tune. But know what size spray nozzle to use. And you will need a progressive controller to control pump speed. So in short you won't see a 80hp gain maybe 15-20hp if even spraying that little will have any cooling effect at all. But I can tell you this with my system without a tune it runs like crap.
