I thing 8G1Z-9F945-A is the canister VENT solenoid, no?  Usually the base number for the PURGE solenoid is 9G271, but it may be different ...

Shows as discontinued, is listed as a hose assembly

I think you might have to use ONE of the existing stock Hose connectors in order to fit! Z

Pull off the purge valve and let's see what Ford stamped on that part.  Might be helpful, might not ...  With any luck we can find that valve separately.

I think I read somewhere in this thread that one of the hoses was wrong and the poster had to re-use one hose. On rockauto it didn’t appear it came with either hose.

Rockauto has the wrong part listed for the EB, that is a valve used on the naturally aspirated 3.5

Is there a way to test that valve?

Normally if you pull a vacuum on it for 5 min or more and it does not hold, the valve is faulty.
