What next???

Great looking ride there,4DRHTRD is a vendor here and DP are a great performance upgrade, help the turbo's spool faster,he also specializes on the flex, make sure to get a revised tune for the DP.good luck.

I'd vote for Downpipes... 4 bolts, R&R one O2 sensor and you've bolted on 12-17 HP depending on catted or not... consider hotpipes.

I doubt the DP with or without cats are legal in California.

Isn't there a restriction in front of the throttle body?  It snorkels down after the soft tubing.

Does anyone make this piece that goes from the intercooler to the TB? Charge air tube???

Yea, CA is crazy on this stuff, but my DP cats do have a CARB number and pass AZ emissions. As far as the plumbing you mention, EcoPowerParts has the entire hoptpipe set... or they have the part you want do called the "noisemaker eliminator" which is the IC to TB pipe without that noisemake thing that sticks off to the side... the entire kit (which I love in black ceramic coating) made no difference on the dyno, but it virtually eliminates the chance of a turbo leak... and will make it much easier to find and fix if it should occur... It also looks soon much better than the plastic.  The pics of these pieces and the install on my car can be seen here: http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,2248.msg32460.html#msg32460

Why isn't anyone using the BBK throttle bodies?

They should fit the EB SHO & Flex.

I think they might not fit... I haven't tried and the guys at LME are not sure when they were asked. Southern Speed Inc sells the BBK ( http://southernspeedinc.com/?s=bbk ), but it seems it's for the F150 3.5 or 3.7.  *** has a less than stellar reputation for the work with EB engines in what I read and what customers complain about in engine problems... mostly F150 EBs.

RevExtreme makes one that does fit  called "dimpled" I think... look here: www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,2426 .... but it never caught on either in our platform, but some GM guys like it.

I am unaware of any improved performance with an AM TB of larger size in our cars.. and as I remember there was even some degraded performance for many with the BBK TB in the SHO when it was tried... not sure how it or the RE performed in the F150 EB for which it was designed, but those run a bit differently than the transverse models and do have larger turbos.

But IMHO.... I have to feel something is not good or is price inconsistent because the are not new products and folks don't seem to use them.

Truthfully, we don't use throttle body upgrades because these cars do not need, nor benefit from an aftermarket throttle body. Add into this the lackluster reliability of aftermarket throttle bodies in DBW vehicles, and it becomes even clearer why to avoid them.

I can answer a question on downpipes for you in Cali. NO aftermarket downpipe will pass in Cali, this is because it is illegal to remove a properly functioning cat, and then it's also illegal to relocate the car from it's original location, if by chance you actually were replacing a faulty cat. You might be able to scrape by in another state that actually does sniffer tests with an OBD-II legal cat, but Cali always does a visual as well and it would be an instant fail. They just don't play around in Cali.

Thank you for the input.

It wouldn't be worth dealing with smog for 10-20 HP.

I had to get rid of my blown/stroker notchback Mustang... it was just too much $$$ and a hassle to deal with the smog in CA.
