Wheel and tire fitment question

Hey guys, I know I'm probably the millionth person to ask this but couldn't find a direct answer in the other threads.  I'm gonna be getting new tires and wheels soon, TSW Nurburgring 20x8.5 with BFG Comp-2 A/S 275/40R20 tires.  Now I've got 2 questions about this setup, will 275/40R20 fit on a 8.5 wheel? I know it says the wheel width range is 9-11 but wasn't sure if .5in would make that much of a difference.  The other question is what offset should I go with, those wheels are offered in either a +20mm or +40mm.  The car is a '13 SHO PP and though it's not lowered yet, it will have H&R springs put on soon.

Thanks for all the continued help guys

I will attempt to answer a portion of it :)

9-11 inch fitment means 229 - 279 mm possibilities.  So you are right on the upper limit for that wheel.  Personally, I don't like being THAT close to the edge, but it does fit in that respect.  A 9 or even 9.5 wheel would be better, but the 8.5 has certainly been matched to the 275 by other forum members.

As far as offset, +20 would certainly provide more clearance, but +40 is very close to stock.  I would say go with the +40 to keep suspension geometry as close to stock (for wear/tear reasons) as possible.  The clearance is not going to be a whole lot, but it should be enough.  Even with H&Rs on.  HTH.

That does help, thanks shodded!! I would go with a 9 or 9.5 wheel but unfortunately TSW doesn't offer the nurburgring in that width with our bolt pattern
