Wheel help: MKS w Black Wheels

As the subject states I am looking for MKS owners with black wheels. I've been trying to get an idea of what looks good on our car and am having a tough time finding a lot of pictures. Would like to stick with 20's, and looking for gloss black wheels with a polished lip.

I have a few ideas, but would love to see more, or maybe even a pic of one of these on a MKS.

Thinking something like this:http://www.tsw.com/alloy_wheels_jerez.php

I'll start looking for you, but I want to state the opinion that I think the black w/ polished lip look ship has sailed.  I think it was doomed when the cheapest of cheap brands came out with the look, and ruined it.  I originally wanted something like that with my forged 3 piece wheels, you know, piano black center and polished lips.  In the end, I went with a brushed center w/ ceramic coat, and polished lips, and I get a LOT of compliments pretty much anywhere I go.

Have you considered maybe using black as an accent instead, to create contrast?  Or maybe go with something like smoked or tinted clearcoat over a brushed wheel?  That always catches my eye.  Also different types of hypersilver seem to really work well, as they are black first and then a transparent shot of metallic silver is added for depth.

Just ideas.  Also, do you have a pic of your as it sits now for help?

You and me both! I've been actually trying to see what the OEM 20" wheels would look like painted black.

I've always felt OEM optioned wheels are the best choice and aftermarket tends to take away from the car, this had me looking into the 20" polished wheels that come on the new Explorer as an option, I know they also come dark grey/gunmetal:

Or the 20" Sport Edge wheels:

And then ultimately replacing the Ford center cap with the Lincoln center cap for a clean look!

22" isn't too big with a 265/35-22 tire.  That's what the H&R demo car used before swapping down to a sportier, lighter staggered 20" setup with BBS LM wheels.

But 20" is fine too.

So, if I were picking out a wheel for you and your car, I would pick a staggered, concave wheel with high contrasting machined w/ black accents, most likely.

On the high-bling side of things, there's this gem

or same brand but toned down, this good looking wheel

Another one I can highly recommend is this

I can't link a pic directly but go there and see.
which is the Ace Alloy Convex, a wheel one of our Flex guys installed in 22x9 and 22x10.5 staggered, and my goodness it looks amazing.  There are MANY color varieties which is a nice touch.

Another recommendation is MHT's lineup, there's a bunch there I like a lot.  Some are pure piano-black, but there's actually this deep-tinted clearcoat that looks awesome too.

I've actually got several more wheels in mind, but let's see if you like any of these to start.

Here's a picture of my MKS with the 20" EcoBoost Appearance Package wheels. They've been dipped with gunmetal Plasti Dip, so they're not quite black, but I wanted a little contrast. The emblems are dipped as well and the chrome window trim has been gloss black vinyl wrapped.

here is mine with Verde Saga wheels.

they remind me of Giovanna or Gianelle wheels like the Killis models but cost a lot less.

so far so good, the finish and integrity have held up; but they haven't gone thru any winter conditions yet…

How do you have your grill painted? I love the gun metal accents. Thinking maybe trying the gun metal or black plastidip on the (currently) silver fins in the grill and either leaving the chrome or body matching.

I had the upper and lower grilles, fog light bezels, and the engine cover professionally color matched. I originally experimented with Krylon Fuzion on the grilles, but it didn't prove to be durable. I've had great success with it in the past, but it didn't want to adhere to the grille material on the Lincoln. Take a look at my build thread for more details and pictures.

Thanks for the compliment! :)

How about OEM black Permachromes? Retain the OEM look of the 20s (which I like). Cost you only about 12-1400 bucks with a core exchange too.  I have Chrome Permachromes and love the durability and OEM look.

Thanks FoMoCoSHO

I saw that Saleen was using the same wheels on their new Tesla testbed, I like the contrast and slight concave face.
