Will 20x10.5 wheels with 45 offset fit on the rear.

I'm looking at a set of Vossen CV5 wheels for my 2013 SHO PP. The only issue is they don't offer the wheel in a 10" only in 10.5". I like the staggered look so hoping the 20"x10.5" with 45mm offset will fit. If anyone has any input I'd appreciate it... Thanks

PM Lanson.... He's like our resident expert on this stuff.

I'm thinking a rub at wheel lock since there is so much more gain in width compared to offset.

Should work, but I am not 100% sure of clearance in the rear.  We know from some of the Flex guys going wide in the rear that a 10.5" works, but we've only got experience with 35mm offset on a 10.5".  That works but it is REAL close to the brake bracket, and closer to the rear shock.  The SHO may be a tighter fit.  HOWEVER, it would be worth it to find out.  I would take the chance if it were me, and test-fit without a tire.

We push the envelope this way. and find what really is the maximum.  My 265/35-22 on a 22x10 +37 rear was one of the first, then johng hit it harder with a 22x10.5 +35, and that was pretty much perfect.  Again, this is for a Flex, but the SHO is really similar.

Ok... So if a 10.5" wheel with an offset of 35mm is REAL close to the brake bracket and rear shock. Then I would think a 10.5" with an offset of 45mm would be even closer to the bracket and shock. The 45mm will push the rim in 7mm's closer than the 35mm. That could possibily be fixed with a wheel spacer i think. What's your opinion?

I have 10" on my rears at 38mm offset, wrapped in a 275 /40 shoe.

With the recent additions of the Megan coil overs & allowing the new set up to settle, I sat LOWER than I did with the H&R's.

I was level to be exact, whereas with the H&R's, I still had a rake.

Result? I was near constantly rubbing / striking the rear inner fender liners over medium bumps while driving. On the outer edges that is. What a PITA.

I would suspect a 10.5" wide rim, will only enhance that further.

I have since raised the entire rear end a 1/2" & when having an alignment check performed, had the techs additionally (& purposely) alter the rear camber to/towards the negative side of the spectrum.

Result? All's fine now. But still close.

Just my experiences with the 10".

If you peer inside the SHO's rear wheel wells, at approximately the 10am & 2pm position (s) there's a molded protrusion, or bump in the liners.

I never checked to see what's under, or behind them.

I like the suggestion of at least test fitting a 10.5"  on there. But like I said, actual driving will be the true test.

Good luck! :ok:

Great info on the offset and size, I've been searching for this for a while. I might put my factory sho wheels on sale over winter in order to obtain bigger wheels.

What size rim and tire are you running in the front, and what offset? Both, front and rear, where do you have more space left(between the tire and the fender lip, or between the tire on the inside and the shocks/struts)? How much space roughly, do you know?

I'm thinking of getting 9.5 inch rims to run 275s. I don't see a need to run bigger as this size should support 285/295 size if it's even possible to fit such size in there.

As far as my fronts....

255 / 45 shoe on an 8.5" rim, same offset as rears, at 38mm.

I'd say just by eye balling it, you easily have another 1" to spare on the outer edge. So your proposed choice of a 9.5" rim all the way around oughta look good.

My rears, with the tire/rim sizes previously mentioned, sit fairly flush on the outer edge(s).

I haven't checked since my coil over install, how much more room is left so to speak, in regards to the inside(s).

So, I'm thinking that a 32mm offset should fit a 275 in front on a 9 inch rim. Would a 35mm offset bring the rear towards the lip too much for 275? It's only 3mm closer than what you have.
