Wont start

Hi everyone, I purchased a SHO in November and have been regularly stalking the forums for advice and ideas. The car WAS tuned, I did NGK plugs, 170 tstat, 3 bar and unleashed tune in May. The car has ran ok since then. little quirks here and there, rough idle, delayed acceleration, lurching... But now I have a major problem.... While traveling the second leg home yesterday from the family vacation, started on the highway and BOOM engine shut off and was unable to get the car started again. Had to have the car towed to the local dealership and leave it there since they are closed on Sundays (7 hours from home). But before having it towed to the dealer I put the 2 bar back in it and returned to stock and disconnected the battery for a bit. But back to the problem, the car did sit on a slight incline overnight and had code P0627 in the morning before we took off and I just figured it was related to the rough start that it had, and due to being parked on slight incline and cleared it without a second thought. The car had a half tank of Shell 93 in it and had 93 tune on it at the time. On the side of the highway it sounded like it wasn't getting fuel, it would just turn over and nothing would happen and then the P0627 code reappeared. I know fuel pumps can go bad but I didn't think it happened and 34,800 miles... The car ran perfectly fine for the 9.5 hours of driving the day before. Has this ever happened to anyone else before? Still waiting to hear from the dealer....

That code would seem to indicate either your fuel pump or the fuel pump control module is bad - could be the wiring to them or the devices themselves.  Either way I would think that would be your problem.  It should be under warranty so I'm sure they will get it fixed right up.

My LPFP and fuel control module failed at about 20K miles. I got the low fuel rail pressure DTC and communication DTCs only. Mine just died in the road too. Took a half day for the dealer to fx and fix. Runs better than ever now.

x2/3 ^^^.  What year SHO do you have, tlundjr?  Hope your dealer fixes the issue(s) and gets you back on the road ASAP.

Fuel pump issues seem to affect the 2013+ much more frequently, so I'd think you have a good chance that that is the culprit.

Its at a dealership where it broke down 7 hours away. Just want to make sure that when I go pick it up, i'm not blindsided by having to pay for it.

Just be aware they might flash your PCM back to "stock", so you will have to grab the strategy code and have your tune updated before reloading into your SHO.

Yeah, unfortunately, it is not like vehicle recalls or Windows software updates.  You don't get notified as they happen, typically only when you visit the dealer.  Maybe owner.ford.com has that info, but I've never found it there.

True... The dealer updated my ECM when they did my fuel pumps.  Thank goodness they told me! I never would have looked otherwise and would have flashed into a non running car that only they could fix!
