Wtf Did I do to my sho? New exhaust makes my car sound like a rice burner

ugh. I just got the stainless steel works downpipes and cords cat back exhaust installed. My car sounds like a rice burner. Nothing like the videos. WTF

ANy ideas?
 
Blame the downpipes, not the catback!  The catback is innocent in all of this!  One of the many reasons people stick with PPE or LME downpipes ...  Now, if you get rid of the Corsa, putting the OEM back in might be the best thing.

No way shodded...my car sounds very close to stock with just catless downpipes and stock cat back....the biggest change in exhaust sound comes from the mufflers
 
I have the unleashed catless DP, LMS 4+ tune, K&N CAI, NGK plugs and original exhaust and I like the whoosh sound my car makes. I think if you want that throaty sound you have to have a V8 naturally aspirated engine. Gotta embrace the twin turbo sound! The performance is unbelievable and with EBC slotted and drilled rotors and performance pads its like own SHO 2.0. Loving it!
 
Yes, i would say the stainless works down pipes are your culprit. I hate the sound of those things. Raspy as hell.
but if you decide to sell the Corsa cb, I got dibs! Lol

Oh my god dude really?..the mufflers make the noise change....dude u wouldn't even know I have an exhaust on my car

I didn't think it was very loud but more goofy sounding..man I hated my sho when it sounded that way

Putting an exhaust on these cars is like having an ugly baby...you force yourself to love it because you made it

yes, really. I will guarantee you the raspiness is due to the downpipes. The Corsa exhaust has the best sound with hardly any raspiness. SW has been known for this on eco applications. Trust me, I have a friend that works there.
 
rasp comes from the muffler or lack thereof.  DPs allow for more volume and flow, but drone a rasp are put under control by a muffler.  That is the point of a muffler. 
 
**** I tried two different exhausts and didn't like the ricer sound. Went back to stock ... and from my experience magnaflow sounded less ricey than the corsa.
 
I have catted ppe's, magnaflow X (removed resonator/muffler) stock muffs. Good compromise, still have whistle, quiet rumble, no rice.
