Congrats there shoman04. Pretty impressive run.  :clap2:

Be forewarned Txstrmhntr.... I've got the dibs on the entire supply of Methanol here in the Midwest.

It's ssssoooooooo much fun being addicted to Meth!  :flamethrower:

He does!!!! He does!!!

However, you can buy Methanol at Cedar Falls Raceway (when they open up in the spring) for around $3.00 a gallon.  That's what I paid a month ago. One has to bring their own jug.  I have my 3 gal. in my "Boost Juice" jugs!!!!!

Would guess Cordova Raceway (which runs CF Raceway) likely has it for the same price.

Haha, Well I reckon I'll be able to find plenty Meth in Texas  >:D

oh and yesterday I set another personal best on the 1/8th. I'm aiming to get 7.90's with tune only  :)

DA was 900

8.11 with only a tune is very impressive. That translate to a 12.66 on the 1/4 mile. A 7.9's 1/8 mile equals 12.4's on the 1/4 mile.
Maybe with the XV1, who knows?
Those 2013 with PP surely launch fast!
Good job! And good luck!

I was out a Kennedale a couple of weekends ago and could only muster up 4 8.26's, DA was around 1200 for pretty much all day.  My best 60' is a 1.84, how are launching?

They had just reprepped the track.
I did the best burnout the car could muster
Pulled up to the prestage lights
Brake boosted til it was creeping past the brakes, crept into the stage lights just flickering on
Held the RPM around 2400-2500 (still very very slightly breaking past the brakes holding power)
and it seemed to hook up better with the harder launch about half way down i had the feeling it was going to be the best run id ever had.

Edit: tire pressure on the fronts was lowered to 29psi

I know you guys are running times at the track, but I used my iPad for this. So question is how accurate are the obd2 sensors? I used the elm327. The 1/4 mile slacked as I ran out of real estate, but depending on accuracy this bone stock SHO does pretty good! At least in my opinion. I should be able to have my baseline dyno done Thursday, install tune, CAI t-stat, and plugs and another dyno run to see improvements!

That looks very close to the real thing for a stock SHO as far as time and speed go.

I looked at some of the posted times and yes very close. So I know time relly matters in racing but, all the money being spent on mods and only 1 second faster and unicameral than stock? Unless racing on track, but street drags does 1 second count? Couldn't that be made up in reaction time alone? Just asking. Not trynna offend anyone.

I would say a second does count.  But, that said, I am happy with a tune, intake and springs.  All that can be had for under $1500.  And that's about 3/4 of a second.

If you want to go see what one second looks like on a quarter mile, I invite you to go see on YouTube : steve142857 and choose New world record at 116mph or something like that. I run against a Mustang 5.0 that ran 13.3 seconds... One second is enormous! Actually, my car is only one second away from the fastest Ferrari on the planet or a 911 Turbo! Believe me, they are way faster...
Or look at the 100M, when the guys are running. Usain Bolt does 9.58 seconds and the other guy 9.8 seconds and it looks like he is walking behing Bolt. So imagine a full second at speed over 100 mph!

Thanks for putting that in perspective. Real racing even a tenth of a second is huge. But do most of you here hot rod your cars for the track or the street? I think that's the bigger question for me. If the track then yes I get it. If not...........

I am mostly a street guy.  But, I did go tracking this year to see what she'd do.  I had a lot of fun.  But mostly I just love the power for DD'ing.

Like Steve I'm a TRACK-cohol !! But I will SHOw off on the street like yesterday with a NEW ATS. I GOT 0-45MPH down to a STOP-WATCH. I get to 45mph and let off (with a 1.7-1.8sec 60ft) it makes ATS's and others look bad when they hit 60mph and the cop at the next block stop him with a ticket.LOL

Nice. Stoplight action. I had an IROC Z when they first came out. Pulled up to a red light light. Not paying attention to who was next to me. Light turned green, I got left at the light. An old lady driving a '87 Buick Regal T-type. Whew! No bueno lol. Hurt my image but nothing I could do with that car.
