10' Trans Filter

Hey guys, quick question for everyone. On my 2010 I am having one of my techs perform a trans service, fluid and filter.  He is telling me that he needs to drop the trans in order to replace the filter according to the schematics I had sent over from Ford. Talked to service and they told me not to replace the filter unless I have a specific reason to. They said just do a drain & fill. What do you guys think?

Agree with the techs/Ford.  You have to split the trans to remove the SCREEN, since these do not have a traditional filter.  Just do a drain & fill (3x to get all of the fluid replaced).  Much easier & way cheaper.

Yah I figured it out after I made this post, the filter has a metal mesh screen so it does not need to be serviced. But for my next trans service I will be taking it to the dealer so they can filter it appropriately,. I was just confused because when I bought the filter, my Ford vendor sold it to me quickly

Drain & Fill on a regular maintenance schedule, is sufficient.

For sure mike. I'll probably change it again in the next 20-30k miles. Btw I seen your car at world of wheels. Loved it ...

Glad you did.  :ok:

Certainly presents itself much better in person, yea?

As good as the images may be, taking it all in, in person, leaves an even greater impression. Or so I've been told.

That show is ALWAYS a good time.

Most definitely. The photos don't do the car justice. I particularly loved the interior white vinyl. Yah it was fun. This is the second time I have gone and never realized how big it was till this year.

Your car was right next to the stage and I seen it when they were giving away awards so there was a lot of people around your car and it gave me anxiety lol.
