2013 PP front brake pad part number

Anyone happen to know the Ford part number for the PP front brake pads?  I haven't been able to find any aftermarket high performance brake pads for a 2013 yet.  I want to get a set for before I track my non-PP SHO this fall.

Also does anyone know if the pads for the police interceptor are the same as the PP pads?

I would bet the PI pads will be metallic. I know they are on the CVPI (at least that's what they replace them with. May get noisy on yours.

My PP pads are nosey; annoys me to death.

I spoke to Hawk today and they don't have anything for the PP model--they got pads for the non-PP SHO now.

Guy said he would put request in to have pads made.

Looks like the "only" person is Performance Friction but I've heard horrible things about them.

I know PF pads can be dusty and a bit noisy, since they are carbon metallic (not ceramic).  What bad things have you heard, geswek?

About performance friction? Their pads are super dusty and noisy.

Sent from a mobile, I think.

I have run PFC Z's on my car for almost 15 years now.  Definitely dusty, but noisy mostly when first being bedded in.  I drive with the windows down, and the noise level is quite low.  Stopping power is very good for all-climate street.  Don't know for autox or racing.  Just my 1 cent.

The problem I have with my OEM is noise -- they squeal at light brake/slow speed. It's annoying as piss when I'm trying to look super sexy coming up to stop light in downtown West Chester; the hotties checking me out and --- SCCCCRRREEEACCCCHHHH! --. UGH.

Yeah--it sucks.

I've tried riding brake at speed to bed the pads but it didn't help.

Hopefully Hawk will have something soon!

I just sent an e-mail to EBC about pads for a 2013...haven't heard back yet.  But are the brake calipers different between the 13 PP and non-PP...I thought the calipers were the same, just different pads?

I don't know if the calipers are different --

Well.

According to FredBeansParts; there is no caliper different for each package. They basically list one caliper set for the entire line.

So; let me ask you this? If these calipers are the same; what does that mean if we use a non-PP pad? What are we losing? Extra thickness of the pads? What does that mean, I have to change my pads more often?

I don't think so, I think the pads on the non-PP is just a different material..not sure what the difference would be, maybe one is semi-metallic and the other may be more organic.  I would think the PP pads are softer, hence supposedly better stopping power.  I have never liked any pads that come with a lifetime warranty (ceramic) that normally means the pads are very hard and instead of the pads wearing, they wear the rotors. Ford rotors aren't really all that great to begin with.  I would rather have a softer pad that wears quicker, provides a better grip for stopping...yes, you will have to replace them sooner, but pads are intended to wear.  Rather change pads then rotors.  I remember when my father had a rual mail route...he did something like 588-600 daily...he had to replace brake pads/shoes about every 6 weeks!  Not that that really has anything to do with anything, just depending on useage will also determine wear.  Hence my wife who stays on the gas until 30 feet from a red light, has had to have new pads (and rotors) on every vehicle she's owned in about 30K miles, yet I've only had to change pads twice in over 3 vehicles and 200K miles...I've really liked the EBC pads/rotors and if you visit their website, they have some pretty cool looking rotors and pads for the SHO...still haven't heard back about 13 availability from them.

Ideally I want to replace both.

I would prefer a quiet pad with little dust.

Right now my OEM are loud and they are exceptionally dusty.

My oem 2013 SHO PP pad are not noisy What noise are you guys referring to?

When replacing my pad on my 2009 GT 500, the Ford dealership parts counter offered 2 replacements, the OEM pads and then the Motorcraft pads. The OEM pads were 2x the price but a much better stopping experience. When replacing the oem pads with Motorcraft pads on my 2003 Cobra, the stopping power was degraded so much I thought something was wrong. After researching the Motorcraft vs. OEM pads, I found out that the OEM pads are high quality performance pads and the Motorcraft pad is a Value Pad which gives low dust and low performance. When I replace mine, if no other alternatives are available, I will buy the OEM pads from Ford. I have had no noise and no problems stopping so far.

Ok, has anyone figured out what the Ford part number is for the “performance” brake pads that were original equipment on the 2013 SHO PP?

My pads reached 75,000 miles recently so before my rotors got chewed up, I decided to change them with some Performance Friction pads. When changing them I immediately noticed that the replacement aftermarket pads did not have the same anti-rattle clips, but decided to go ahead with the install. Now after several days of research, I have figured out that several replacement pads do not have the anti-rattle clips riveted to the outer edges. For some odd reason Ford’s part listing descriptions for the brakes are: SHO w/painted calipers (DG1Z-2001-D) & SHO w/ out painted calipers (DG1Z-2001-F). This doesn’t make sense because to my knowledge, there are NO SHO cars with painted calipers. I am assuming someone somewhere at Ford misinterpreted (PP) for (painted calipers).

I have attached photos of the PP OE pads w/anti-rattle clips and photos of both models of the replacement Motorcraft pads. One set has the clips (Model ending in F) and the other set does not have the anti-rattle clips (Model ending in D).

I have verified that the Performance Friction part # 1611.20 pads do not have the anti-rattle clips as these are the pads that I installed on my car. When I drive over rough roads it sounds like a have a new rattle coming from the brakes.

Why is it that the 2013 SHO PP OEM pads have the clips and then several of the Ford and aftermarket pads do not?

Does anyone know if the (2013 SHO PP) Hawk or EBC pads have these anti rattle clips attached?

If anyone has input on this topic, it would be much appreciated because I’m scratching my head here.

Thank you.

I am wanting new front pads on my 2013 SHO PP also.  Would be nice to know who and what part numbers are available as I have not found a set yet.
