I read this thread tonight and really felt your anxiety.  You'd think Ford would have a system that worked like a shipment tracking number that the consumer could check any time to monitor progress.

I am sorry for your troubles, but I am glad I found this thread.  I too placed a factory order, and was told 6-8 weeks.  So I will be tracking this very closely. 

When I placed my order I also had to put a $500 deposit.  If you put down any sort of money, I would feel better about demanding more/ better answers.

ya I had to put down minimum $1000 to get them to press the enter button.. if they have pressed it!

soooooooooo... 3 months in and I finally got a window sticker printed.. Looks like it Actualy will get built on dec 2nd. should ship out on the 4th.. cutting it close for christmas road trip to see the family tho! so if that  pans out its a 4 month wait for a SHO factory order..  :band:

Let me say again that Showgun waited a really long time to get his car (in Canada)...I will send him an e-mail, I'm sure he'll hop on and will be glad to give you some insight as to his wait, I know it required a lot of patience on his part.

We had a friend (Showgun) who waited several months (like 4-50 for his car to show up at the dealer.

I'm still here alive and kicking...... Miss you guys..

Shotime99 -- 6 to 8 weeks is quite normal for delivery depending on many factors.
In my case the Japan earthquake held up an ingredient in the Red Candy paint resulting in a 5 month delivery...Imagine how I felt after that long wait.

Thankfully these guys helped me keep it together and I made it to the car's delivery intact. But that was a long wait -- I can tell you.

The dealer will be notified as the production dates as soon as the VIN is assigned so that you can better estimate the delivery to that dealer.

Dealers hate to do it but if you press them (nicely) they can stay in touch with BG and their schedule.

I'm guessing that the VIN has already been assigned and more info is available to a request.

I still believe we (the car buying public and the main source of Ford's $$) should push Ford for a user accessible tracking system so the buyer can follow this 24/7 and get explanations for delays online without asking... just by looking.  It won't control the tsunamis in Japan or the fire in Mexico, but might help the buyer handle the wait.  Maybe put it in the comments section every time a consumer satisfaction survey is done.

Its a terrible way of doing things... If they had told me 3-4 months I would have never done the deal. so they win that one for sure.. but then never knowing why its delayed bugs me for sure.

ya it was a mess. good thing I live on the high ground.. only about a km from the river that flooded also..

did you drive the SHO for the trip?

pulled the trigger just now and ordered from Livernois the Black Friday special intake/tuner/t-stat package! Prolly wait a couple months at least to install them is probably the best.. since no car yet!
