2016 Redesign?

We have seen the Chinese version of the 2016 - anyone have anything on how the US version will compare? Getting pretty close to model year release and no news. :(

I work at Ford in body construction and have yet to hear discussion of a 2016 Taurus Program. That's not to say it doesn't exist, but if it does, there aren't any body shop changes.

I just hope they don't plan on making them in China and shipping over here!  Probably testing the market with the new design right now in the Orient.

There is a thread on here that had some of the same photos I saw on google too.

The spy cars were so covered up it was hard to tell the fine lines of the car. Shape of the car looked about the same. The grill is defiantly differently looking some.

The concept photo showed the SHO with a GT350/GT500 looking grill and lower valance on the bumper.

It would not surprise me if Ford continues the current Taurus in the US and has the Chinese version just for the Chinese market.  That is contrary to the "one Ford" strategy that they have talked about but there is just not much evidence that we will get the Chinese version here.

It is a pretty safe bet that the Police Interceptor will continue on the current platform and be built in Chicago so it makes some sense that the civilian version remain on the same platform.

I really would like to see the Chinese version here, though, along with an SHO version of course.

If we do get a redesign i hope they have different trim levels similar to how dodge has the rt, rt scat pack and srt 392. would be awesome if they gave the hellcat some competition.

Oh the speculation...... LOL. I love it. Good news looming in the horizon. And yes, I know. 1st hand.

Here's what they had painted new colors and a generic sticker put on...

As Mike said, the future is bright...keep your eyes open and camera at the ready if driving around Michigan ^-^

The last word I got was that Deep Impact Blue was GONE for 2016.  The Blue is "Denim" as in Denim Blue Jeans.  The same shade as the F-150.  I think the grey is going to be re titled beyond that no major changes.  Same ordering packages and options just minor color changes.

Latest Issue of Car and Driver  (September 2015)  Page 68.

"Minor Trim Changes:
Taurus/SHO"              .......other models deleted for clarity.

I could possibly see one of two possible scenarios on this one......

1.  Quietly setting the US Taurus up for retirement without fanfare.

or 2 and hopefully 2 is more probable.

2.  Using the 2016 Chinese market sales as a test market.  If sales are decent there that could be a good indicator and set up possible retooling for a 2017 US Model.
