3bar tune. Double checking.

I've been reading a lot about and just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I've kinda been out of the loop the last couple months with all my other projects.

I have a 2011, non PP, with SCT and 93 octane tune, Catless downpipes and airaid intake.

If I email livernois, they will send me a 3 bar map tune for free. And I just need to flash that, and install a new 3 bar map for $60 and I'm done?

I mainly need to make sure it will work with my sct handheld tuner I guess. If so I'll order it this week. lol.

LMS does not support the SCT any longer.  Thus, no 3-bar tune for the SCT, only for the MyCal.  For 2010-2012, 4X is the current version of the 3-bar tune; for 2013+ it is v8.

Talk to Torrie at Unleashed for a 3-bar tune on the SCT.  Not sure what the cost is, maybe $200 or less.

I sold my mycal because they wanted like 6-700$ to unlock it and give me new tune files.

$200 for torrie and a $60 map sensor maybe worth it though.

I agree!  Probably your cheapest upgrade option.  Let us know what you find out!

Guys,

we still support SCT for the 10-12 cars, but only for the stage 1-4 tunes. To gain access to 4+ and higher you do need the MyCal tuner, with that said though, we can tune for a 3-bar MAP on the stage 1-4 tunes, but the main advantage of the 3-bar is to be able to run higher boost levels than our stage 4 would be setup to run. We do have an upgrade program for customer's that originally purchased their SCT device and tunes from us to be able to gain them access to our tunes that are only supported by the MyCal line of tuners.

I'd add that many have documented more WHP & TQ with less boost in the newer LMS tunes.  This gives more headroom for ambient/intake air temps allowing better performance.

I bought my 3bar MAP and it arrived today. I plan on getting my tune from Torrie next week.
Can I run the 3bar MAP WITHOUT having the tune yet? Just curious... I know its like a 3 min job,.

No, you cannot run a non 3bar tune with 3 bar installed.
The car will run like crap and throw codes.

Glad you asked, cause that would of probably even leaded to more issues, and cosidering its a 14 sho.good luck and let us know when you get the 3-bar tune.

Is there a difference between the '13 and '14? Just asking bcuz of what ZSHO said below.
I think I might just call Torrie today. I hate waiting. But there is only 1300 miles on the car. Lol

I am not sure who told you that price but the only fee is $250 which is to remotely unlock the Mycal device and transfer the serial to a new owner.  That price also includes new tunes and free lifetime tune support.  And if you can prove you are the original owner and just upgrading to a new vehicle we will set it up for free.  I have had customers think that its $250 to unlock and then $250 for tunes which is wrong but $6-700 is way off.  My apologies if you were misinformed but please if you guys have any questions like that call 313-561-5500 ext 103 which is my direct line.  Or just ask for Anthony to avoid anyone missing out on some amazing tunes.

What type of difference between the two would you be referring to?  They are different strategy codes but we have been able to tune any 2014 since the first ones hit the street.  All of our 2010+ SHO parts fit the 2014.  Same down pipes, CAI, cat back, 3 Bar map, etc.

Just wanted to clarify to the member installing a 3bar,cx-221 without a tune, the answer of course is hell no,considering its a new car you want the process to go smoothly without any issues, when you get the tune make sure you install the new sensor first then, then you install the new tune, good luck and enjoy the ride.

Sorry, I reread the emails. I  bought a brand new in box color MyCal (2nd hand but never used, he bought it from you guys but it was the wrong MyCal). And was then quoted by you, $400 for the new tune file. Maybe I was remembering more of how much I was going to have invested just go from Stage 4 SCT, over to Stage 4 MyCal with 3 Bar map, and gave up.
