And traction control on or off? Sounds the cars nanny mode (torque management) was holding things back.
I can't speak for the SHO's but I know the Explorer TM is insane from the factory and that it thinks of throttle position as merely a suggestion, not a command.
On of the runs I was in 'sport' mode. But I would probably see better times with advance trac completely off. And a tune reducing or eliminating torque management would help for sure.
