Advancetrac light illuminated

So I was driving for about an hour and right when I was about to get home, the advancetrac light illuminated and stayed on.  Simultaneously the car seemed to go into limp mode as i lost a lot of power, a giant wrench came up on the dash, and i also got a "collision warning not available sensor blocked" warning on the dash as well.

Stopped the car on the side of the road and checked the codes with torque pro and got code p0706.  Not sure if this code is related to this issue as it's been a while since I've run a scan.  No CEL lights came up or on.

I turned the car off and back on and everything was back to normal.  Drove home for another 5 minutes without issue.

Any ideas?

I think another elm Bluetooth module gremlin strikes again.  The limp mode and loosing power kind of throws it off though.

P0706 is transmission range sensor.

That's the only info i'm getting with that code.  That you usually just need to replace that sensor and that fixes the issue.  Just ran another code check and the p0706 code wasn't there, but u2023 was instead.  Never cleared any codes and not sure what to make of u2023 now.

Car is back to running normal and no warning lights on the dash since i turned the car off and on.

I was curious while driving was there any heavy rain? This PO706 out of range signal frequency for (PWM)Pulse width modulated solenoid,(TRS)Trans range solenoid sends signals to the PCM if any malfunctions are detected, also the abs/speed sensors play a jointly role, personally would start checking the solenoid under the car,the harness connectors overtime corrode and dirt buildup will cause improper erratic signals to the PCM causing a wrench code, check engine.  Z

It was raining all day, but only slightly drizzling when this happened.  The ground was definitely wet.

One of the warnings I simultaneously got when this happened, "collision warning not available", always comes up when raining or the ground is wet.  It typically just ends there and I don't get advancetrac warnings.

The ABS/wheel speed sensors Z mentioned may not actually be bad, but rust may have built up on them.  I'd check them over carefully, clean them up as needed.

Any idea how hard the transmission range sensor is to get to and replace?  The part is about $75 on fordparts.com.
This would be one to leave to the pros, I think, but I have attached a copy of what it's like on the Edge.  I don't think it's complicated, just a lot of steps to be very mindful of.

I just took a ride for about 20 minutes and no lights, warning, or anything wrong.  Seems to be running smooth.  If this happens again, I'm taking it right over to ford and having them hook up one of their scan tools up to it while the wrench warning light is still on.

If I have any updates, and hopefully I won't, I'll make sure to post.

I'd recommend filming it next time this happens.  Keep your phone/camera handy.  Too easy to reset, it seems.

I wonder if the (ETC)Electronic throttle control system along with the pedal position sensor play any role in this,it is associated with fuel control and transmission shift schedule while delivering engine and wheel torque,on the Gen 2  if a significant processor fault is detected the monitor will FORCE vehicle shutdown by disabling all vehicle fuel injectors and the wrench light is turned on in this mode, the above mentioned was just a thought and possibly somehow related to one another.  Z

If all fuel injectors were shut down, I wouldn't have been able to move at all, right?  I was able to drive, but felt significant power loss after all the warning came up for about 20-30 seconds (kind of felt like i was driving in 5th gear but only going 15 mph) and then it drove like normal again.  The lights were still on until I completely turned the car off and back on.

The car was in (LIMP MODE)for 30 SECONDS .Z

I could be wrong on this, but it sounds like the above mentioned,ETC system failure mode,(Rpm guard w/default throttle)in this mode the throttle plate control is disabled, due to the loss of throttle position,or other major ETC system fault and that will put vehicle in (limp mode position),maximum allowed RPM is determined based on pedal position (RPM GUARD)if the RPM exceeds this limit, spark and fuel are used to bring the RPM below the limit, the wrench light and mil are turned on in this mode, hope this helps any.  Z
