Thanks. I am glad it sounds just as quiet stock but with increased throughput. And mild turbo whistle.

I'll be in the LA area mid July if you haven't become a meth user by then I can show you my setup.Dxlnt1 said:SHOdded said:That meth install's been the Holy Grail for ya! Hope you can get someone local to help you out ....
Whew that is so so true. I at least want to see someone's install before I attempt it on my own. At least another SHO owner to bounce thoughts and ideas off of.

My thoughts are the little increase is minimal when all I am pushing through is 425 hp max. Too cost prohibitive. I think another $200-$500. And I don't like the noise that and drone that comes from cars that are not moving enough air to truly make the exhaust sing. Cant make a V6 sound like a V8 without some serious $$$. Besides, I don't run at the track enough benefit from the added flow. Maybe if I do meth install I will revisit.
I am keeping my eye open for the Ford GT crate motor. Once its available, my car will be paid for and warranty won't be an issue. Imagine having a 600 hp ecoboost engine in the SHO. And Im sure LMS will have some sort of tune for it. So now with a tune, DP's and maybe meth a 700 plus hp 4500 lb sleeper. Even the Hellcats wouldn't wanna mess with the SHO!

No need to imagine.
No need to wait.
An 805hp (at the motor) engine is already lurking under my SHO's hood.
Compliments of course, of Livernois Motorsports.
So they have the all the solutions & tuning ready to go.
The next biggest hurdle right now, is the drive train & it's related components.
I plan on only running my 525awhp (680 at the motor) tune file for the time being for this exact reason.
Per FMC Execs & their own internal testing, drive train failures did not START to present themselves until at, or around, 720hp at the motor.
So the 6F55 Trans is fairly stout, but obviously limitations abound when one starts pushing it to it's outer extremes.

I have never, ever totaled up the amount I've put into my SHO. Why?
I invoke the "plausible deniability" factor whenever the Wife, or others, ask the same question(s).
Suffice to say, in order to maintain any semblance of longevity at the HP #'s you're desiring, you'll definitely want to harden the internals, and build around that outwards.
In closing, I got a chuckle out of your "Corporate Sponsorship, LLC" comment......
That's gotta be THE SINGLE biggest misnomer from various members here that I am somehow sponsored, or have taken money from any of the vendors who've worked on my car, or even funnier yet, that I've been on any of their payrolls.
None of it is true.
I have my annual W2's to vouch for that, as well as a Wife who constantly crabs about what I do to my car, as well as how much she perceives I spend on my car.
It's taken many long hours of overtime, coupled with me doing a fair amount of the labor, and this being literally my only hobby, which has gotten me to where I'm at with my SHO.
It takes Heart. Passion. Vision, and Perseverance I assure you.
I'll take anything I can get to feed my habits lol. But my mod breakdown is something like this...FoMoCoSHO said:As much as you've spent, you probably should have a sponsorship.....
sunwolf said:Ok you have me sold on this pretty good now. I am thinking LME downpipes with the magnaflow x-pipe but I was wondering about doing 2.5" just between the downpipes and the x-pipe. Thoughts on this and estimated price?
You are still limiting yourself in that 3 feet of 2.25" pipe between the downpipes and the x. After the x it all opens up and your restriction is gone but while I'm under there why not just fix that. Is my thinking right on this?Dxlnt1 said:sunwolf said:Ok you have me sold on this pretty good now. Downpipes and X-pipe already 2 1/2". Just a 2 1/4 - 2 1/2" transition to X-pipe. Install cost me $300. Kept OEM exhaust and mufflers.
Mike has a set of PPE DP's to sell. You can probably order from him and save yourself the wait. But they are PPE downpipes.

Also LME is an hour from my house so getting the pipes from them will be quicker as they have them in stock. I could also have them bring me a set to milan on saturday maybe.
BMW has never made a v6 because the mechanics of a straight 6 are better.FoMoCoSHO said:Another option is dp's, cutout, finished off with OEM. Best of both worlds. Imho there is no catback worth any money on these cars because I think they all sound like crap.
Hopefully this setup will all be installed in the 2015 soon.
There are some fine sounding v6 engines.....BMW, Nissan, etc. I wonder what it is about ours that seemingly nothing improves the sound.
You are correct, I should have stated 6 cyl engines.sunwolf said:BMW has never made a v6 because the mechanics of a straight 6 are better.FoMoCoSHO said:Another option is dp's, cutout, finished off with OEM.
