I'm looking for something that is affordable and will provide good tread life. The original Michelins have 51,500 on them and still have tread, but are dry rotting.

I do plan to make the normal mods......tune, stat, 3 bar, plugs.

There are no plans to auto x and it might never see the drag strip, however I want good traction from a dig.

What are you guys happy or not happy about your choices?

Thanks

I switched from the F1's to the Michelin Pilot AS/3's just to get better tread life without a significant drop in performance. So far I really like them (16k miles) and can probably get another 10k out of them.

A few of us have spooned on the new Continental DWS06 tires including myself.  I've put on a good number of miles already with a long trip to S.C. and back.  The wet handling is very good IMO as we hit some heavy rain on the way down a couple of times.  Dry traction is very good as one would expect and the handling of the car is about the same as the Michelin or slightly better.  I feel like there is more feedback from these tires over the Michelin also.  These tires are "Z" rated, have a 50k tread warranty along with some good roadside coverage directly from Continental.

I looked around for a couple months and settled on these.  My price out the door with tax, mount, balance, etc. was only $1008.05 which is very good for where I'm located.  They're worth your review IMO.

I went with general gmax as-03's and am very pleased with them so far.
I went with these also. Very good in NE Ohio winters. A little louder due to the tread pattern. Softer sidewall, but I bump up the pressure to counteract that. Max psi is 51 on the as-03. I've had pretty good luck with generals. They're made by continental now.

I'm currently running the BFGoodrich gForce Comp 2 A/S' on mine, and they have performed pretty stellar.  I'm waiting on snow and ice, to see how they do in true winter.  So far, I haven't experienced any tire spin in the dry, and very very minor in the rain, on hard launches.  It also sticks the corners very well, but I'm still getting used to the portly girl, so I haven't pushed it too hard ..... yet.

I switched to Cooper Zeon RS-3A's last fall when my F1's finally wore out. I have PP and they are pretty darn good during dry. Its HARD to break them loose - I run Livernois 93octane lvl 4 w/non-catted DP's so I have a BIT more umph than stock. Last winter was pretty normal and they performed well in the slow/ice/wet.

Once you try winter tires during winter, especially snow, one will never go back to anything. Amazing what difference it makes.
