anticipation kills

I have wanted a SHO since they came back out in 2010. I've been working my ass off at Tasca Ford trying to get to a place where I can afford one, and it has finally happened. I found a 2013 black with pp in San Antonio at a BMW dealership. It has 27k miles, a clean carfax, and they originally had it listed for $30,610. We agreed on $25,982. A few days later, they dropped the price $1000 online, and I got them to honor that price with me! Now it's the waiting. I have the bank check. I booked my flight for free with SPG points, and fly out 7/16. I will start driving home Friday the 17th, and hope to be in my bed late Saturday night.

Couple notes. I drive 70 miles each way to work. I was originally looking at non-pp for mpg, but decided to go all out. Snow is an issue in my area, and I assume snow tires will be a must, even with awd? My flex has no issue with no snow tires. I have a tune in my n/a flex from Torrie, and will likely use him again for the SHO, but wondering if anyone has tried the Tasca mod shop with their SHO. I will not be racing, so I'm thinking basicically: mdesign intake, plugs, 3 bar and tune.

Sounds like a good deal to me, congrats!  I also flew to pick up my '13 SHO 13 months ago.  Was a blast driving her back home.  Make sure you pair your phone and get Sirius working first!

If it still has the Goodyear F1 SuperCars, you'll need a different tire for the winter.  If they are original, then you need new tires anyways.  They don't last 27K miles.  Just get a highly rated all-season tire once winter comes, such as Conti DWS or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

Stick with Torrie for your tune.

Welcome to EBPF, cseverens, and congrats on your pending ownership of the SHO!  Hope it turns out to be as nice as or better than what you expect, and have a fun ride home!  PM is right on the money re:  tires.  Other good all season choices are General GMAX and Pirelli Cinturato P7, esp. since you won't be burning rubber all the time :)  Dedicated winter tires make sense esp. if you see deep snow or ice where you live.  AWD with all season will work well in winter otherwise.  Tirerack often has 18" wheel/tire discounted offerings you can set yourself up with.

Sure, CAIs by themselves can be installed without a tune.  The air is metered, so the PCM can compensate.  When you add downpipes to that, you can still get by fine without a tune, but a tune is needed to take advantage of the added low-end grunt.  To date, I don't think the PCM compensates for exhaust flow, just for what the O2 sensors read, which is where the tune comes in.

When I got my SHO, I did not even know what the PP was until after I read a little more about the car. I found my window sticker in the car and there it was. I felt special when I found out.  The dealership that sold me mine was great! I found it online and I got the low internet price. Apparently they were doing a Black sale event on certain cars and they had very low prices only showed online. Again, I felt special. I got into my show for 25k about after everything. I stole it is how I felt. I wish i could say the dealership that is fixing my SHO is as good as the one that sold it to me.

You will have a blast driving the car home. Make sure you have both keys when you leave the lot and DO NOT set up the MyKey thing unless you know what you are doing. It can limit some of car like top speed, radio volume, and other alarms in the car. Its very annoying if you do that. Enjoy the car. My SHO is my second favorite car i've owned.

I plan on only using premium. I'm sure the dealership will fill it the tank for me, but will likely use regular. they said they changed the oil, filter and wipers. I am trying to get them to verify if it was a ford filter and oil, but have yet to hear back on that. I told them if not, please do so ahead of time, and I will gladly pay them for it. otherwise, I have to go to the ford quicklane a few miles away from the bmw dealership I am buying it at and waste time I could be using to drive home.
