Any 1/4 Mile difference with a regular SHO, compaired to one with the PP ?

I was just curious, with or without a tune, is the SHO with the performance package any faster in the 1/4 mile?

It certainly launches faster, at least when I compare my non PP 2010 with my 2013 PP. A full tenth faster.
But I don't think it translates into a faster 1/4 mile ET.
I would think that the PP has a lower top speed and needs an extra shift, so that compensates for the better launch.

Lol!

Launching from a stand still it feels a little peppier then the non PP (I have driven both). But as Steve mentioned, it doesn't seem to get a faster 1/4 time. There are other reasons to choose the PP or non PP. As discussed at length before.

For what it's worth, my brother-in-law owns a 2014 PP with an LMS V8 tune. I own a 2013 non-PP with an LMS V8 tune. We raced off of a stop light and he was 1 full car length in front of me the entire time. We raced up to 100 mph-ish.

Did both of you have it in drive or in sport, cause if you had it in sport mode, you will only be able to go up to 5th gear.

ha I knew it. PP haters say what you want all things otherwise equal the lower gear ratio has to have advantage. It's common sense.

Oh and my PP gets's upto 6th gear in S mode if I shift up with the paddles, however racing up only to 100 that should be irrelevant anyway.

Come on now 68_GT  ..... don't see any HATERS here .

With the Mods and  variables of said , that's where its really at on this forum .

My 10' with PP shifts into 6th automatically. I really don't know where this 5th gear only talk comes from. And the lower gear ratio ALWAYS has the advantage. If you had a mustang with a 3:55 rear end, would you switch to a 3:27 or a 4:10?  The lower gear gets the power to the pavement quicker and quicker launch = quicker ET. As my Dad says, "it's all about the hole shot!"

Track times are only way to prove this right...but then it'd be so close many other small variables could be used as fault to discard results

Sorry, I'm confused... So you're saying non PP with the 2.77 would be quicker?

Rich, any advantage you may have had disappeared the second you put that K&N intake on.

It's ALL in the variables .... no DIS on the PP

P.S. ... paddle shifters for the 1/4 !?!?!?  Nah ....
