Well guys it doesn't look like I'll be going to the drags this weekend after all.  For the second time this month, I've been having a fuel pump related problem.  Earlier this month my dealer had the car for about a week to figure out the problem. first they replaced the fuel pump then the fuel pump module.  That seem to fix the issue until today, now it's in their shop again.

I did take the car in for the recall prior to any issues. the issue started before installing Torrie's tune. I removed the tune this past monday to have the car serviced and have not reinstalled it yet.

Anyone else having fuel pump related issues?

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your SHO.  Can you describe, in as much detail as possible, what exactly is going on?

I think there is a recall out there related to fuel pump module replacement, and occasionally there have been issues with bad fuel injectors.  That's about the extent of fuel related issues I have heard of.

I know at least some of the 13 SHO's were involved in a recall for the in tank fuel pump . Mine was replaced last summer at around 3000 miles.

I had the recall issue taken care of last year.

The car tends to cut out when you depress the throttle and then eventually just stops running and will not restart.

Do you see this problem even when running the stock tune?  Any codes/warning lights?  Maybe pull the spark plugs and check for fuel smell/unburnt fuel.

On the Edge, a similar condition is caused by a faulty throttle body (no TSB or advisory yet, but has happened to a lot of people).  Usually, restarting the vehicle will cure the condition ... for a while.  Replacement is the eventual fix.  Have not seen this manifest yet on the SHO tho.

Yeah, I would check this immediately if you have not.  Look up (I think DJE or someone else) posted real good pics to find this wiring running around the drivers side of motor up top.  Easy to spot when you know what to look for.  Mine of course was running right over the edge of the lower intake.  I pushed the wiring back and wrapped electrical tape around the two wires.  Never had a problem, but it should not ever be issue now.  FYI

yea, you guys are right... I need to pad these wires up in the ribbed protective wire channel.  I also hate the hose clamps  uke:  When I change my T-stat I need to replace them with the clamps like the ones on the EBPP hotpipes and downpipes

I guess I need to check on this as well , I remember reading this earlier and thought it had been " fixed " on the 13+ .

Is this an issue on all 3.5 EB vehicles ?
Also are the wires unprotected or do they just work their way out of the wire loom tubing / protective wrap ?

You may have to show them where the wires are chaffing, because as far as we know Ford is not aware of the problem...I know my service manager was not aware of it until I told him and showed him where it was occurring and how to correct it, and I am not aware that Ford has officially acknowledged this as a problem or issued a TSB on it.

I know it's been described as causing stubbling and loss of power, I have not heard of a no start condition.

The tranverse cars all years seem to have this simple wiring issue.  Yes, if that wiring is rubbed through pretty good it could cause all sorts of erratic issues.  FYI

I used electrical tape and plastic wire looming to cover it up.

Most that have experienced the problem and a lot of us either repaired the chaffing ourselves or did preventative maintenance instead of taking it to the dealer, hence, I believe that might be way Ford is not aware of this being a fairly common occurrance.
