Is there anyway to avoid the dealer to fix my key fob it just stopped working will not lock doors and no remote start..?

From your user name I take it you have a 2015 Explorer....under warranty  I would assume?  Take it in.

yes i plan to i just figured i would ask here maybe there is a quik fix if i take it in i need to make app then they most likely  would need it their all day blah blah blah....

All other functions work fine?  Possible that BCM needs to be recalibrated (TSB 13-6-28, for the Escape) if DTCs are set.

Sucks, but take it in.  I feel you on the big inconvience of taking a car in for service.  If we had a premium brand (Infiniti, BMW, Merc, etc), we'd walk in and drive out with a courtesy car and go on with our lives.

I agree with others... if it's true for both fobs suddenly... it must be the car.  They should only need time to verify/reproduce the problem... ask ford what to do... reflash or replace the module... I bet you'll be out in 1-2 hours.

IF you can suggest to your assigned service advisor that your in a rush and need to be out of there by a certain time and should make a note on the work order for the tech to see before repairing your vehicle,it works for me everytime unless they give me a loaner.

if it takes that long, they don't know what they are doing. since mine is a '10 have aftermarket viper. BB after they checked out to make sure wasn't a wiring issue took less than 1/2 hour to refresh.
