Avg 14.2 a gallon

I usually get 19 mpg mostly city with a heavy foot. There must be something wrong. I know our explorer is around 15 or 16. But it's all small hops around the city.

My brother has 10 mazda cx9 suv, purchased brand new,im pretty sure he has the same motor as ours but without the turbos and the majority of the parts say Fomoco and he is getting 15 to 18 mpg avg.

K, so dealer said they could look but if not warning lights (running rich etc) come up there will be nothing they could do. Shop foreman checked for TSBs on my vin, nothing. :(

OH well it prob is just the way the drive is. Fair amount of stop and go. It is what it is.

Three things that are fairly easy to DIY:  check all hose clamps for tightness, spark plugs for any signs of fouling, and running a bottle or two of Techron through the fuel system (or use a known high quality 93 octane fuel for a couple of tanks).  It may be worth getting a tune for the improved gas mileage that many have reported, but most likely you'd be running 93 fulltime at that point.
