Back into an SHO (kind of)

I just joined from Michigan after getting myself and Ecoboost at long last.  When I was still in grade school my dad bought the very first 89 SHO our local dealer sold.  Around 98 he bought a 95 and I took over the 89 and all of its 215,000 miles.  Next I got a 97 SHO.  I got tired of the auto and traded back to a 94 SHO.  When I was finally able to afford it, I bought my first (and only) new car, an 04 WRX.  That thing was a riot!  So much fun I spun 2 rod bearings at 135k.  I sold it as is and got into some less exciting but nicer cars; an 05 Lincoln LS and then when that was approaching 100k I traded it on an 09 MKS (FWD 3.7.)  Last week I was able to trade in my MKS and get a 2012 MKS Ecoboost.  Talk about instant gratification!  She is silver/black with 27,000 miles.

All I've done so far is walk around it and see that it needs a better detailing.  Cleaned up a few stone chips and put my Husky liners in the front, back and trunk.  The car is not quite fully loaded, but close.  It has everything except adaptive cruise and park assist.  I love the sport appearance package!  I'm planning to get it tinted next weekend.

So that's my story.  Oh, I'm in southeast Michigan.  And in the picture that is my Father-in-law's '13 SHO next to my MKS.

:WELCOME:  Glad you've joined us...hope you enjoy your new Ecoboost, and great photo of the SHO and MKS together!

Welcome to EBPF, glad you are here!  Nice to hear about your SHO (and now MKS) history :D  Look forward to seeing more pics, and hearing more tales told!

Welcome Woody!!
:WELCOME:
Glad you joined!

Sweet ride... back in the 3.5EB!  Hope you enjoy the time here as much as you will the ride!

Thanks all.  No huge performance plans yet.  First things I'm considering are the Scangauge II so I can see what the boost numbers are and perhaps a CAI.  Does a CAI let you hear the turbos?  I loved opening the air box in my WRX and hearing the turbo.

First up is window tint.  Getting that done this Saturday.  I think I'm going to do 5% on the back glass and 35% on the sides and windshield.  I'd like to do 20% on the sides, but I think that might be too dark and get me stopped while the 35 won't.  I had my 2009 with 5% on the back, 35 on the sides and a 5% strip along the top of the windshield.  I never got stopped in 2 years, and the 1 time I did, it was for my tinted cover on my license plate.  Cop said nothing about my windows!

Here was my 09.

Welcome aboard EBPF there Woody! :hi:

Sorry, I thought I had replied back.  I am in the Sterling Heights area.

I had to arrive late for my tint appointment today, so I'm going back next week to get the windshield and sunroofs tinted.  For now I have 5% on the back window and 20% on the sides.  And my father-in-law is still in town. ;)

I love this car more every day.  Trying to drive it easy and I'm getting comparable mileage to my FWD 3.7.
