Bad mount already?

I've been having issues with my 14PP where tune or non tune the trans will have a harsh clunking downshift; The issue escalated recently where now I have wacky wheel and it pulls left or right depending on road condition's and following this the front tires seem to be loosing tread at an escalated rate. Backing up from a parking spot(worse on hills, or french drain driveway) the car will jolt as if the car hit something and you can hear a loud bang in the front and rear end.

After taking this car to its 3rd dealer(every single one giving me issues so far) they blamed this on the pop ting tsb for the front axle nuts. I told them this is a issue with the driveline around the PTU. I had to come in and demonstrate this to the mechanic and he explained it may be tires, I asked him to check for bad mounts or play in the diff/ptu/driveshaft; He turned the driveshaft almost more than a 1/4 turn and it makes a loud binding sound in the ptu(he said it was 'normal') The dealer then checked the tire tread improperly(From the wearbars) saying my back tires are bald, and that the front tires aren't even with the rears(Caused by this drive-line problem, and that I need to replace them before they do any more diagnosis) I threw a fit and told them to write down ford's customer service number for me and ill ask them if this is correct. A friend of mine got under the car and discovered that the entire driveline has excessive play with the e-brake on and going between drive and reverse, The transmission moves the entire driveshaft up an inch and the rear diff also binds with this..

My question is, are there common mounts failing on these transmissions that would cause it? or maybe its both a mount and the ptu going bad at the same time..

Time to find a new dealer, I think.  Sounds like very much like the PTU is having issues, which could put extra wear & tear on the trans mounts also.  So if you fix the mounts but not the PTU, you've fixed the cart, but not the horse.

Every dealer i've been to takes the easy way out and will fix one issue before the other and sometimes the other issue is not pronounced so they ignore it.. As far as these issues, I really hope ford will offer at least a discount on a new set of tires, I just bought these tires 3 months ago and the fronts are down to the wearbars and that's on 440 treadwear all season(what had to settle for at that time). I don't know how long it will be before a major failure occurs here..

Have you tried these two dealerships?  dealerrater.com has them rated well for sales/service.  But I guess you will have to start somewhere.  If you feel you are stymied with the Ford guys, try the Lincoln counterparts.  Usually friendlier and more knowledgeable, including their Customer Service line.

I've been to the Mullinax in New Smyrna, my uncle lives 5 mins away. Nice people. My grandma takes her MKX to the Gary Yeomans, also a nice dealer

Mullinax is always backed up 2-3 weeks on appointments(unable to set my day off that far ahead without leave)  Palm coast likes to replace with similar parts; like a brake switch that didn't sit right and front end parts like strut mount bushings without checking alignment/roadtesting, & Gary Yeomans left a bad taste in my mouth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYUoCmqgWsY
"Can see the way he drives it" So a raccoon causing 3K in damage is totally my fault..

Been there done that. They gave me 85k premium care warranty with convenient deductible and nothing happened to the 2 mechanics except reprimand (bumped into a step daughter of the guy in my car at an scca event) and 2 weeks ago the gm was arrested because he stole from ford and  the comissions toward the salespeople. Honestly ive had issues with this car since day one. And I think I have had issues with every dealer is they dont take a 20 year old owning an sho seriously.

I've had that issue too. They don't take the younger guys seriously.

I usually end up calling ford corporate if I have an issue that won't get fixed. Have you tried calling them?

3 times now.  I called immediately after leaving the last dealer and they want me to go to another one to get a second opinion...  wow...

I know the service department at Mullinax of Apopka doesn't take to kindly to 20 year olds either. Took my Fusion Sport there last year to get the tire fixed and they messed up one of my rims and when brought up, even to the service manager, they told me I had no idea what I was talking about and how could a "kid" know better than their service department. Needless to say, I will never give them my service again!

The video isn't that high quality, I Threw up a non raw file in a hurry. Its a G1W They go from 20-70 on amazon depending on how valid the source is(there are good lookin fakes out there) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdMHY04g9O4 < What it looks like at night.. Good thing it doesn't have a GPS XD

As far as my problem goes; for some strange reason the issues in reverse and hard shifting disappeared, but the random pulling continues. Faulty PCM learn at the time?

Dealer couldn't find the issue with the driveline, yet I had instructed them to check the alignment and that was the cause of the wacky wheel; The dealer gave me BFG Sport Comp2's all around for about $480 (kept the old tires, good tread still) to see if the tires were causing the issue. 1500 miles later near 30K the transmission is failing, once the trans gets warm there's a loud whining sound that is similar to a supercharger, Later on the trans will slip and slam gears, go in and out of a soft limp mode. Anything over 110 causes a silent limp mode(sport/paddle shifters inoperable) until slowing down to 70..

Off to the dealer again I go..

Ill haven't had the car a full year yet until June 24'th and the car has had 5 injectors replaced, 2 washer pumps, 2 brake switches, 2 Steering Wheels, Pass and Driver plastic sides on seat, Driver side mirror autodim failed/leaked, 1 set of hubs & 8 attempts at getting hub/click tsb performed properly, factory bent downpipe replaced along with flex pipes. Now a transmission failure. Been to 4 different dealerships, Three with bad advisors and mechanics that feel free to speak their mind and do whatever infront of a dashcam.. Wonder if I could write out a big statement to dearborn..

Def the car has issues, but I'd say the dud of a dealer hasn't done you any favors either.  You SHOULD write about the whole shebang to Ford.

After 18 days they finally got to doing a teardown of my transmission.  Since everything is out I asked the advisor to do a ptu fluid change ( waiting on response of that ). Still waiting to hear on whats being done about the trans, service advisor said fluid was burned beyond recognition and torque converter is completely cooked.

Apparently the transmission tech on my advisors team got sick and had some catching up to do. Then I think they had to do some research on the sho??  Idk or maybe fomoco got involved.  Fords probably getting anxious with the rental car bill about now.

So the dealer has had my car since june 14th. I got a text today that it was almost finished. 5 hours later a friend who works in detail at a neighbor dealer said he saw them test driving it. I texted my service advisor and her reply was if another person at the same dealer had informed me the bad.. ( think they wanted to hide this from me) the driver side wheel had not been torqued and destroyed the fender. Pushed fender into a pillar. Damaged bumper. Etc..
lovely.. The service director Is not happy about it considering my stance on past issues. They agreed to repair the car and existing bumper damage(drivers error); but im not sure if its good enough here with the past isues. Maybe its time to get the state attorneys office involved
