Beware all ecoboost owners!!!!!!!!

you can take your dealer issues to ford itself via a customer service regional/local manager (i can't remember the exact title . there's a person that oversees dealerships in your area, and this person has the authority to tell a dealership whether or not they can call themselves a "ford dealership" and display that big blue oval. I'd be looking in to who that is in your area as if they come through, it will put that whole dealership on their toes. I was gonna do this when i got stiffed on some TSB's the dealer gave me a paper that said they were done while my sport had no evidence of work being done. luckily it was warrantee work so i didn't and they ended up doing the work but if that work cost me 1600 as it is about to in your case. i'd definitely put some heat on them.

I have my car back. Only drives with steering wheel angle sensor is unplugged. Order new one and will replace myself. New pcm which i still believe is useless. $1600. I expressed my concerns and told them i will be bringing this to the better business bureau .then ford said they are going to speak to higher authority about getting me compesated. I sure hope so.

It doesnt specifically say that the Flex ONLY starts with the SASM unplugged.  It says it starts with the new PCM installed, the way I read the description.  It mentions SASM short as a "byproduct" not the main reason.

Yes but thats not what they physically told me nor is that the truth. It does only start with sasm unplugged.

My point was that if this misrepresentation is on paper, they might change their story later, once or multiple times LOL.  So just be prepared.

Trust me, i know. By far the worst dealership i have ever been to. Hands down. But thank u for the warning. I still cant believe this is happenening. I just want this thing to run longer than a month at a time.

Almost as bad as a fellow member down in FL (IIRC) had to suffer.  They actually put a hole in the trans in his SHO.

Definitely suck's,hopefully a quick resolution to the matter....BTW fixed the above pic for ya kinda a pain in my neck, lol.  Z

it may not still work. PCM and BCM have to be "married" unless they got the part level, strategy, and tune file all copied over from the original. 2 different approaches. if they put the new one and reprogrammed the car to it old one will not work. if they copied the files from the old one and basically cloned it to the new one. the old one should still work. 50/50. depending on what software they're using either way could be "faster"

Would it hurt anything attempting to put old pcm back in?

Shouldn't. If anything you'll have a DTC for each module that says 'lost communication with PCM'. Just disonnect the battery before unplugging anything else

If you only have one key probably be a wise choice to purchase another, here's a link to the PAT'S system and some[codes]to look out for.  Z    https://www.motorcraftservice.com/pdf/pats_job_aid.pdf      B1213 Less than 2 (or 3 if equipped w/Valet key) keys programmed to the system.
B1232/B2103 Transceiver internal antenna damaged. Replace transceiver.
B1342 ECU is defective (EEPROM in PCM is not working — replace PCM). PATS related
when stored in PCM only.
B1600 Non-PATS Key or damaged key.
B1601 Unprogrammed encoded ignition key detected (leave ignition on for 20 seconds
before trying a programmed key, in Anti-Scan Mode).
B1602 Partial detection of encoded ignition key.
B1681 Transceiver signal not detected.
B2141 Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) configuration failure — No PCM ID stored in PATS.
B2139/U2510 PCM ID does not match between the PCM and PATS control
(PATS/ICM/VIC/HEC/SCIL).
B2431 Key program failure (defective key or transceiver).
U1147/U1262 Communications issue, SCP (J1850), between PCM and PATS control (PATS/ICM/
VIC/HEC/SCIL).
U1900/U0100 Communications issue, CAN (J2284), between PCM and PATS control (ICM).
U2511/B2009
P1260 PCM disabled the vehicle because of a PATS concern. Retrieve DTCs from
applicable PATS control function (PATS/ICM/VIC/HEC/SCIL).
