Boost leak around the camshaft VCT solenoid seal...

So today while I was checking the car for a boost leak. I notice there's a sizeable leak around the camshaft CVT solenoid seal on the front valve cover. But when I place my finger with little pressure on the edge of the seal the leak stops. I'm wondering if I use some black rtv around the edge of the seal if that would stop the leak. I don't want to remove the valve cover and replace all the seals. Although I may have to... Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I know this doesnt answer your question, but I'm curious.

Why were you looking for boost leaks? Is there a noticable performance decrease due to the leak?

P.S good luck fixing it!

Boost leak ... or crankcase pressure?  Can't be a boost leak from that area unless things are terribly wrong.  RTV seal may work for now, but ultimate fix is to replace the solenoid.

I had to make an adjustment to my wastegate mod. After I make any changes or ajustments I like to check for boost leaks.

Leak appeared while I was applying boost during a boost leak. So I assumed it would be boost leak. I don't have any codes and the car runs and idled fine so not sure if the solenoid is bad.
