Boost solenoid 1 or 2?

Does the SHO have 2 boost control solenoids or 1?....I was out logging tonight and I heard a little pop followed by some hissing and overboosting immediately....Got out and went right to the solenoid on top of the intake manifold.....The one little hose popped off like what's happened to other members here...You know the hose that has no clamp.

Under the charge pipe that goes over the engine there are 2 vac hoses that I presume come from each turbo...I didn't have time to poke around in the dark but does anyone have pics of the hoses that come out of the turbos....On most turbos Ive messed with there are vac hoses(boost reference) that come from the compressor cover...I haven't really seen the compressor covers in the SHO..

I hear a little hissing still but I think it's the check valves by the brake booster but I wanted to know if there is another boost solenoid buried down deeper that has one of those hoses that may have blown off

I can definitely get you some pics, but!!

Well Z I do love your insight and technical data.....But love you? Nah, you are too ugly for me lol

Actually I thought about it and tell me if I'm right.....I don't think there are vac hoses coming out of the compressor cover.....There is only 1 boost solenoid I think and it gets the boost signal from the vac hose that comes from the charge pipe and the vac hose that comes out of the boost solenoid goes to a TEE and to the wastegate canister on each turbo.

It's actually really dangerous that ford didn't clamp that. That is the reference that needs to go to the canister to open the wastegate so you don't overboost.....You could run the reference line from the charge pipe and to the wastegate on each turbo and that would give you base spring pressure for boost

The reference goes to the solenoid and when you run higher wastegate duty cycle it's bleeding out more of the air so less goes to the wastegate canister and keeps the gate shut, raising boost.

I wonder if Ford addressed the issue of the wastegate hose popping off on the 15+SHO' model's !!!Definitely agree its a problematic issue even under stock conditions and should be corrected and will try to provide you with some technical data & Diagrams by tomorrow concerning the above matter from one of my reliable sources, were you able to verify the root cause of the issue yet? personally installed 11-13 mm clamps on all the hoses.  Z

I believe it is one solenoid controlling the lines to both wastgates.

Thank you....wonder if the vacuum hoses that come from the solenoid that go to the canisters on the wastegate actuators have clamps?

Not without camera assistance. Was checking out my leaky turbo so went all over it. Those cheap boroscopes work great for all kinds of things. Especially tight engine bays or ones with very heavy cabs over top of them lol

The wastegate canisters do not have clamps....i just looked and didnt need a boroscope....kind of tricky. They appear to be stuck on good...that one on top is problematic because its a plastic nipple and will usually have oil...i clamped it and wastegate hoses are on so im ready to rip now

Here is a Diagram i was able to obtain, have a few more for later viewing.  Z  :) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8JUL90DXgdiTTdiSzJhWkkwM0JfYXY5RmVySF8waEtENHZN/view

Should I just go ahead and clamp all these Lil lines? The boroscope is a new toy and I play with it as much as I can lol. Once u have one with a good light u will never know how u lived without it

I would clamp the line out of the boost solenoid that attaches to the charge pipe..all others have clamps ...the bleed port goes into the intake and its just vacuum...my wastegate canister tubes were frozen on

AJP guess you dont like my Linky's which were especially prepared for ya.  :(  long day & pleasant dreams my friend.  Z

Had that exact code when my intake pipe from the CAI going to the front turbo had a tear in it.
