Bottom engine cover

Is there supposed to be a cover of some sort underneath the car's engine.  Just wondering as I though I'd seen it referenced in some posts and the 2013 SHO I bought a couple months ago has no such cover.  If so, is it something most people take off?  I've had one on other cars and it seems to just get in the way of maintenance, etc.

Definitely need that bottom cover on,have you had the car for service at the dealer recently??the dealer forgot to put mine on after an oil change visit,noticed my hood vibrating roughly around 70-80mph before i noticed it missing,think its somehow related to the aerodynamic aspect of the vehicle.  Z

There's a bellypan on the bottom of the engine, correct, designed that way.  People do take them off (due to being a PITA for service, or losing fasteners or accidents etc), but it affects airflow under the car not to have them on.  Also can make the hood flutter & shake at high/triple digit speeds.  If you want to replace it, you might want to stick with OEM, they come with the necessary fasteners from what I hear, not sold separately.

Thanks guys!  Actually I did have it serviced shortly after I got it.  They did some open recalls and I had them change the oil...  I really don't remember if it was on there before that though.
