Cecil County Dragway 3/21/2014

I went to Cecil today with Scott (from the board) and my buddy TJ and his wife; we were 3 SHO's deep and it was fun.

I had a personal best and you guys will probably go WAAH; density altitude was -629 feet and temperature was somewhere around 44.1F.

Car 114

Run 1: 12.588
Run 2: 12.580
Run 3: 12.736
Run 4: 12.898
Run 5: 12.608

I killed a transplant 5.0 and a new 5.0 Mustang; along with my buddies SHO that only has intake, tune, and no performance package.

Yes they were; I literally pooped my pants.

I was hoping to get at least a high 12.6; and BAM 12.5--like WAAAAH?!

Can't wait for turbo's, DP's, and meth this summer.
 
Yeah with times like those already with those mods you should be running very low 12's and possibly even a 11 in the most ideal conditions. I say that just cause a 11 in our cars has been very difficult to attain, but you can get one on paper just once thats all that matters.
 
Yeah; it definitely was perfect weather; track started getting cold (hence the 12.7 and 12.8); either the car or I was tired; something.

Then I came back on last run against a newer 5.0 mustang and hit 12.6; I don't think he was happy LOL.
 
Those are great times... and a new personal best is a thrill....

What I loved about it was your 1/8 time at 8.1!  great reaction and great early pull!

Congrats!

You'll have a rocket to manage after your planned mods for sure.

Yeah, Scott was there.

He didn't run, no lid. Just came to watch TJ and I run our cars. I should say TJ wife SHO LOL. He has a 11 second Mustang that lifts like 3 feet off the damn ground when it takes off.

So basically tune only with killer weather.  Excellent times and trap speed.  Wish I had a Performance Pak.

You guys need to educate yourselves.

Different wheels, less rotating mass.

Different tyres, better traction. F1 suck period.

Lower car with stiffer springs, better launch control and less spring rock translate to keeping suspension solid. If you raced motorcycles you understand this.

Exhaust gives better Turbo efficiency through flow.

Intake, it looks nice.

This is not tune only. I would not be running 12.5 with only a tune. Why, because my friend has same car, with just intake and LMS 93 octane and could not get out of the 13s.

Gotcha.  I don't think the catback is doing anything for you except some noise.  The restriction is in the DP's and 3rd cat.  I'll be deleting mine soon. 
 
I'm ordering DP next week. I want to see difference. I do agree the stock are horrible.

I do think dropping the 3rd muffler in place of X in Corsa helps tremendously.

Forgot the Corsa replaced that with an X pipe.

I would agree....  I would add an X-pipe and then just do tips if you want aesthetics. 

Another way to go is what I plan... an X-pipe with a boost activated and solenoid switched oversized cutout in it installed in the downpipes just ahead of the flange to the rest of the exhaust... This was developed by Mike B, and graciously loaned back by FoMoCoSHO to allow Paul at PPE out here to construct a jig ... several of us are waiting on this.... It is in progress and we all hope it can be mass produced and bought through EBPP soon.

I realize other tastes exist.... but I wanted zero restriction under performance conditions, given what we know about CAIs and flow restriction in the SHO, and still wanted a more sedate exhaust note for just cruising.... absolute best of both worlds IMHO.

geswek!!! YOU SCARED ME!!!!! It looked like you had taken my fastest "TUNE ONLY" Time record over 12.669sec. That with LMS 93, CAI, 59 deg, and DA 700.

HA "crash" take a look at geswek and my 12.5 and 12.6 time sheets. Steve try to teach me the why but I still don't get it. why do I have so fast times but so slow trip speeds. And why my car is faster in the 1/8mi but slower in the 1/4mi than geswek on the two runs?
