changing offset

I like to pick your brains if I can.  I have the chance to pick up a another set of 3 piece wheels off of a buddy of mine, yes... I am a wheel whore.  lol.  They came off of a Lexus GS and the fitment is perfect but I am contemplating on going with a bigger outer to give a deeper look.  I need to refinish them so currently they are apart and thats what got me thinking.
The inners are 6.5" all the way around.  The outers are 2" up front and 3" in back.  The current offset is 40mm up front and 44mm in the rear.  So as it stands right now the fronts are 8.5" and the rears are 9.5".  I was thinking of widening them another .5" all the way around and that would net me with a 9" front and 10" rear and would lower my offset to 33mm up front and 37mm in the rear.  My concern is mainly for the fronts.  I have seen a fellow member was running a lower offset, I believe 25mm, without any issues but I just want to ensure before I bite the bullet on getting the new outers.
Any help is appreciated fellas!

Anyone think I'll run into problems?  Just trying to get some insight since I can't measure for the next couple of weeks.
Thanks in advance!

9/10 F/R should work just fine.  I believe even 10/10 has worked.  Will have to look up offsets tho.

Thanks for any info you can provide!  I've looked around and tried to see what offset most are running but can only seem to find widths and some mention of offsets but it seems that most are just going with what the  retailers are telling them will fit. I used, I believe, BPD's offset and plotted it and compared to his and there seems to be a minimal difference. 3mm further from the strut and 3mm more poke for the rears and the fronts will poke out about 14mm more. I just want to make sure the fronts would work without having to do any fender work.  Especially once on the Megan's.

zach_435 had actually put on 20x10.5, but the jury was kinda out on those.

His is exactly what I was looking for!  Thank you very much!  With his 40mm offset and 1/4" spacer, 40mm-6.35mm would've net him a 33.7 offset. Preciate the help shodded!  I keep forgetting about the SHOforum for some reason and all my google searches pulled up either this or the flex forum. Lol

Here are the wheels I'm talking about in case you were curious.

Looks good bud!  Make sure they once you get them to see if they have a torque value for the bolts and nuts. If not call enquire about it that way if you have to redo them you'll have that information. Taking them apart isn't as hard as people make them seem especially since you've got the reverse lip instead of the sandwich mount. God forbid you ever have a problem and need replacement parts go to wheelflip. I've been dealing with them for years and always fast and answers all my questions not to mention cheap but quality parts. If you ever have to reseal them, which eventually you will, GE silicone II model# GE5000.
Just thought I'd share that stuff with you as when I first started getting into multi piece wheels it was tons of research.

And "OORAH" devil dog. I was an FMF IDC with the two six MEU.

Just when I thought the military had run out of alphabet soup, here you are :P

Lmfao!!! FMF= Fleet Marine Force. A qualification that navy personnel can only achieve being detached to a forward operating marine unit and you have to pass written and oral examinations not to mention prove yourself.

IDC (aka The Doc)= Independent Duty Corpsman.  We take care of all of our brothers and sisters who are injured. Work independently or alongside a medical officer or nurse or can operate autonomously.

Lol. I hear it all the time. At one point I was the same way. Always in line for chow early making long lines, taking up all the workout equipment, and just plain smelling.  Then I went and served with them and that all changed. I was doing what they did
