Cleaning intake valves BY HAND?

I had my car at the dealer a while back for a rough idle and poor mpg that i was experiencing, after connecting the vehicle with the IDS software everything turned out satisfactory but with all the ecoboost warnings against induction services my friendly dealer which i have great relations with was willing to perform an induction cleaning free of charge(go figure)this was a few months back.  Z

To be honest with ya my service advisor recommended it but the senior tech which is a buddy of mine was trying to elude from the idea, have an appt this week will keep you updated on the topic and any findings i can gather up.  Z

wow, I hope my valves are a touch cleaner than that! I just got a copy of a service manual, going to review the procedure and decide if I want to do it myself or pay the dealer.. If I don't have to replace the intake gaskets, and only the coolant needs to be replaced I might as well give it a shot!

Ford policy is to just replace the head if a problem related to intake valve carbon buildup .... Maybe your dealer will mechanically clean... Maybe not.
