Concept car with colored plastidip

Now Mike... Don't get any ideas on switching everything "Black" to "White" and vice versa....LOL!!!!!!

Funny that you mention that Bob....

But it seems like I've started a new trend with the TSW Nurburgrings.

I am feeling a little left out in the "unique" category.

So much so, That I am almost compelled to do something different with the wheels. I still like the design, & the weight savings of the Nurburgring, but when it comes to the color only, I've always been a little bit disappointed in the limited color offerings from TSW.

The "Gun Metal Black" just doesn't quite go well with the remaining pieces of black on the car which are all "gloss black".

Maybe you could consider having them painted. I am paying 650$ to have my 4x2010's repaired, prepped, painted, cleared and baked... Not too shabby to have brand new looking rims. They will be tuxedo black; there couldn't be a better match for your car.
I wanted to paint the callipers, but I have plans within the next year that would make that mod completely useless, so I'll have to pass...

Remember the old Saleen paint from about 2000... changes color of paint depending on the light angle hitting the car.  Maybe something like that if you can't decide.  I did it to a 35SC Dually... metal flake red and electric blue combo.... at $800/qt... was worth it!  Maybe they have Platinum White/Tuxedo Black combo

I got my car back from the garage yesterday, they had the car for 30 hours. They repaired my OEM wheels, sanded them, gave the three coats of tuxedo black paint and I think 2 coats of clear and they baked them twice. The result is AMAZING! I had them installed my winter tires while at it. They are like brand new... My tires were very dirty from last winter, and since the mags had been painted only a few hours before, I could only remove most of the dirt with a wet towel and then applied a bit of tire shine...
Next step is next week, I'll go in person to chose the red and then make an appointment 2-3 days later to have them plastidip the whole car in red. Finally, the following week, I'll go back to have the chrome blacked out in flat black.
Looking at the wheels now, it looks mean, but the chrome is out of place... Also, I really don't like the callipers, so I need to find a color that could fit the next color (now it'll be red, but next spring/summer, I will change color)...
So, here are some crappy pictures for the moment of the OEM 2010 20'' painted in tuxedo black. Needless to say that in person they look much better (more pictures to come when the car will be all done) :

Still drooling for some pics... crappy or not! :type:
Finally! After an hour, the pics are uploaded. They had too much resolution to be able to upload them, even one by one... Actually, even with a lower resolution (around 500MB) I could only upload a maximum of 2 at a time... save, come back and do another 2...
enjoy!

PROBLEM UPLOADING PICS:
Am I the only one, but I can't see the pics I just uploaded in this thread. First I couldn't upload any because of its size I guess. I saved them in a lower resolution, was able to upload them (no more than two at a time), but now I get this message when I click on a picture:

The requested content cannot be loaded.
Please try again later.

I am at work and already lost more than an hour with a post... If someone could fix the problem, I'd appreciate.

Thanks!

Ford blue for the calipers?  The wheels look WAY better now than in machined/chrome finish.
Thx. I liked them machined/chrome also, especially with the chrome trim around windows. Now that chrome looks out of place.
Callipers in blue wouldn't look nice with the matte metallic red I have in mind. Perhaps red callipers, but then if I change color next spring/summer, the red is more restrictive (if I chose a metallic green or ?)... Still thinking about it.

NO.O...OOOOO...  Not green... especially stay away from that ugly Camaro bright green......

My motto:  "Da Redder Da Better".

But I did think the blue was really great too!

Steve... I can't see the pics or even the link I usually see when they are uploaded to the EBF server instead of linked from photobucket or some other online source.  Not sure why this happens.... I am trying to figure it out 'cuz I hate not being able to see the pics. I've got 15-20 hrs invested now and only narrowing down still.  Seems to happen mostly on threads I'm interested in, LOL.

Can anyone see the pics steve just UL'd?

Maybe open a free photobucket account and use them to UL? Then the two servers do all the work for just a copy/paste.

I did the same thing as usual: send them by email from my iphone to my pc at work, then save them and upload them here. Don't know how come it didn't work well. I can open 2 of them... Seems lime many other can open them... I can from my iphone.
I tried with photobucket, upload failed...
Maybe because I saved them .jpg???

I like daring! The advantage with plastidip is that it is not too expensive, protects the paint underneath and when you are tired of it, just peel it off!
The green that I like is named atomic green and I believe Canam makes a bike in atomic green (matte metalic) and black combo...
But who knows? I might even go with orange! Lol
Like having a new car each time.

Steve... I think I finally figured it out.  It's in the server functionality modes and speed. I feel stupid. :homer:  I will post what i found in the "any functionality missing..." thread.

Anyway... The dip on the wheels is major sic!  I absolutely love it.

If it were me I'd overlay the TLs with a dark laminate to really black it out

I have a bike that is flat metallic blue...  Really cool look.... Has a hint of silver in it vs the color of your old SHO.
