Wow sounds great man! Is the only mod to your exhaust system the down pipes or have you done other mods too?

Thanks! Did the BOV/VTA and a third cat/res delete.

Great sound… authoritative exhaust note and just right turbo spooling and blowoff!  Well done Dave!  :thumb:

Wow, pulling the resonator makes it a little raspy for my taste.  Hope you like it Super Dave.  LOL

I like the raspy-ness, I'm going to start with catless downpipes myself and see how it sounds. For me a cat/resonator delete may be on the extreme side of raspy-ness, haha.

Right there with you - plan on doing the catless DP's here once the weather warms up a bit as well.

sound real good. I wanted to do that resonator delete too but then i would have had to explain to the boss about the downpipes that she doesn't know about. sometimes you just got to compromise no matter how it hurts!!!!

Mine are sitting on my backseat! It's so hard for me to drive around knowing they are back there begging to be put on, haha. SOON though... soon.

Thanks Guys!  Yes, it is a bit raspy.  I think it was worse at first.  I went for a few WOTs out on the interstate.  Power is great!  If I can't stand the noise, I'll put the resonator back in.

If the noise gets to be too much maybe try a Magnaflow resonator that will be a direct replacement. They have one with an internal X crossover section. The stock resonator piping is smaller externally, and internally also I'm sure. you don't want to put a bottle neck back in there. I think it sounds awesome, I'd just be afraid it might be too loud for me on my SHO. Hard to tell by the video for sure. We need a driving off video :)

that's th exhaust set up I want. Catless down pipes, 3rd car delete and the Magnaflow resonator. I'f I felt like spending the extra cash maybe a Borla catback they're not loud but free flowing. Magnaflow cat back might work too depending on how it sounds. I wonder if anyone sells just the piping without the mufflers. I have toyed around with the idea of running a cheap set of takeoff stock Mustang GT mufflers becasue they are quiet but larger internally. My stock SHO mufflers have 2in exit pipes before the tips !!!!!

The stock resonator is full size, straight through.  I think it probably flows well.  I may put it back in but after the ride to work tonight the rasp wasn't too bad. That said, knowing it is flow through,  I would probably have left it in. and just pull the cat.

There is definite "restriction" in the stock mufflers, as Scrming had shown in cutaways on the other site.  Another reason why aftermarket catbacks (or mufflers) help.
