I went to a bracket racing event since I figured it would be a good way to get several passes in, but once I got there I wanted to win, so I decided not to change tire pressure or anything else during the entire day. It's the first bracket race I've ever done.

1st run - 12.2479 @ 118.05 mph RT - .2756
2nd run - 12.2599 @ 115.03 mph RT - .2240
3rd run - 12.2676 @ 114.39 mph RT - .0321

At this point I was feeling like I could easily get within 2 tenths of whatever dial in I picked. There was a delay before the last qualifying session and the temp went up about 8 degrees.

4th run - 12.4599 @ 116.34 mph RT - .1286

There was another track cleanup delay and the temp went up an additional 6 degrees before the first round. I figured my time would go up another tenth or 2 since it was getting warmer, so after 45 minutes of contemplating, I picked a 12.48 dial in.

Ended up running a 12.4358 with a .1309 RT even tho I let up before the finish line. He was coming up on me, but I probably should have hit the brakes a little. Went under my time by .0442 seconds. The lesson to be learned is never underestimate your gearhead tune. I need an intercooler and tires now.

Nice runs! Get down that sixty foot and you could very well be pushing into the 11's

Oops, fixed trap speed to be 118, not 188. That would really be moving.

I feel like there is a lot left on the table, I'm going to get new tires before next track day. It probably would have helped a little if I would have rotated them but work got in the way of that.

I was just happy to be running with a -.96 OAR. This track was a two hour drive and last weekend I made the mistake of splashing gas in on the way up, so I think I got a half gallon of someone's 87 octane. My OAR last week was -.45 by the time I got to the track and it still ran 12.43.

Awesome times! what was the DA?

596 according to the drag times DA calculator. It stayed around 48 degrees my first couple of passes, but by the end of the day it got up in the 60's.

Yep, he gets that sixty into the 1.70's with that MPH on the big end...you have a high 11 all day.

Nice runs! How were you launching from idle ? That 60 ft should be 1.78 or 1.8 at least , you'd be doing 11.90 to 12.20 all day . Best part about Forced induction compared to Nat aspirated is the DA and temperature doesn't hurt the times as severely

Not to take anything away from the run but the time slip just looks off.. Slow to the 660 then it mph 118..?

That is about right.  My car goes anywhere from 82 to 86 mph to 660 then 108 to 112 in the quarter.  So average it out it is 84 and 110 which nets me 26 mph.  He went 90 to 118 which is 28 mph.  Also a slower 60 foot nets a higher trap speed because it gives the car more time to gain mph.  When I sixty in the 1.70's my car goes 108 in the quarter.  When I sixty in the 1.90's it goes 111-112.

I agree my car is mid 82-85mph in the 1/8 and trap 110-111mph.

Don’t ask how I obtain the things I do. But I’m pretty sure this is your ride.  :thumb:

How in the F???? That's awesome, thanks for posting! The run where the guy didn't move off the line was my 4th run of the day, that was the 1st one where I wasn't in the 12.2's and it thru me off for bracket. The orange scat was the one that knocked me out of the bracket. The blue truck was faster than me, but I beat him off the line by almost a full tenth and crossed the finish line just ahead of him.

I agree the slip looks off, the one I posted was my first run and fastest run, but it was almost 4 mph faster than I've ever trapped before. I was thinking their lasers were off, but when I looked at the datalog it showed me getting just over 117 mph. I'm guessing my speedometer is a hair off. I trapped 116 twice, including the bracket race where I let off a little at the end. I wish I would have let off another .0442 cuz I would have liked to race again.

Side note for anyone who has never done bracket racing, you are supposed to bring your own white pen to write your dial in time on the window.

First run I launched at 1765 rpm, 2nd was at 2100, third was 2150, fourth was 1962 and the last one was 2100. My aim was to be at 2000 but after consulting the data logs when I got home it doesn't seem like I did a great job at that. I forgot to charge my laptop beforehand, so when I downloaded the first one it flashed low battery life at me, so as soon as the logs were transferred to the laptop I shut it down hoping it would last thru the day. Notes have been made to fully charge laptop before track days.

You went 12.51 to my 12.56, and you went 110 to my 108.9...they are pretty much dead nuts.

No sho gets down a track without me knowing ;)The video was done by one of my really good friends. All the videos of my car and 802sho were done by him. He happened to be in Ohio and went to the drags to video. He was sending me some stuff and I remembered your post about being there. So I asked him and he sent me that lol. He’s also a sho owner so he never misses one down the track.
