If only ford would make the eco's flex fuel systems. It would open up a big power window. At little to no upgrade costs.
It would be cool if it was possible to program the ecu for an ethanol sensor and the nessasary maps to go with e85 mixing. I know PROEFI makes a ecm that works just like a flex fuel vehicle.
So far the biggest limitation right now is just fuel supply correct? E85 can be tuned for but we would still have to switch tunes for different mixes still.
I actually begged Jason at ProEFI (he's in town here with me to help me make a plug and play harness and use the MS48 as a piggyback to control the aux fuel system. They have been working on a 335i for quite awhile with no success yet. They'll finish the 335i way before they'll finish the Ecoboost, lots more people there modding.
The 335i is going to be a complex project for sure. Wish they would of started with the 3.5 first. Either way at least someone is doing the R&D for this.
I've noticed a increase in fuel economy for some reason at e25. Not sure if the computer is just miss calculating but it's a bump of almost 4 mpg. My A/F ratio is also in the 11-13 instead of 14's at low throttle town driving.
