First time at the track with the MKS

Nice, I've seen a couple around town and there are a couple guys in DesPlaines as well.  I need to do some data logging myself as I am still on the first revision of my tune.

Lol...not a bad idea at all actually.    Might have to give that a try!

I'll definitely give you a heads up next time I head up to GLD....

Also...my brother in law just picked up a 2014 SHO and he's also in MP.  Lots of ecoboosts in town!

Heading back to GLD tomorrow evening with my MKS, and my brother in law is bringing his Unleashed SHO.

Feel free to meet us there if any of you are in the area!

I just checked out the tech requirements for GLD, and I see that cars 13.99 and quicker require a "Driver Shaft Loop" (sic).  Are you guys installing driveshaft loops in your cars?  I don't think I've seen them required at other tracks for cars in this range.

I'd like to take my car to a track one of these days, and I'm curious about the requirements.  Already bought a helmet!

They've never given me a problem about it in my 11 second Cobra on drag radials.  Might be different if you show up on slicks.

I'm thinking about going tonight but damn it's going to be hot.  I am running a tune with the stock t-stat at the moment, I wonder how much that will hurt me.

I ran my 2014 non-PP SHO on the first Unleashed tune file at GLD tonight (I've finally registered here Ryan) with stock t-stat.  SHO ran just fine but only did 3 runs for datalogging purposes and to test my baby out.  Kid car seat in the back and all.

Weather sucked, but it was a good time.  I always end up at the track on the hottest days.

I'll be heading up at least one more time this season....I'll post on here again to see if anyone is interested.

Also FWIW, tech inspection has been basically nonexistent.  Guy asked if I'm stock, I say yes, and then writes the numbers on my windows.

So how did you guys run?

My best was 13.658 @ 101.18 (Unleashed tune, 3 bar) and it was my first time on the drag strip.  However, I need to try again but in Sport mode and it was another hot and humid day.  I look forward to going back again soon!

EDIT: AND improve launch technique  :)

If you share the full slip we can give you an idea on how you were launching and what to expect when you get it down. How many revisions on the tune?

All 3 runs attached.  I was not brake torquing much which is something I want to improve on in addition to R/T as well.  I'm looking to break into the 12s but not get too crazy as I still want a consistent/reliable daily driver (not exactly sure if that combo fully makes sense.)  This is the first tune from Unleashed, no revisions yet.

Oh yeah, lots left in her. Get 5-10 revisions in and the 60 down to 1.8s and you will be well into the 12's. The first tune is just a base, you will see large gains with revisions!

Thank you.  Ryan02stang (whom I rode up with along side his MKS and who helped me out) also said the same about the 60.  Can't wait!  :dude:

If you can only log at the track email those logs to Torrie right at the track. He is so fast you might get another revision or even two from one night at the track.

Did you mess with tire pressure or launch rpm? Mine got consistent 1.8x 60fts with tire pressure between 26-28 with stock Michelin's and brake boosting around 2200. Just getting your 60' down will drop your et considerably

Looks like you should be about a 13.0 which is on par for first revision Torrie tunes.  For every .1 in your 60ft you roughly lose .2 in your quarter mile time.  1.8 60ft should be easily accomplished once you get used to brake boosting.  Don't worry about your R/T as it doesn't factor in to your times.
