Fontana 1/4 mile, reopening next week

Finally, I've been following the whole situation for a while. I'll definitely be going to the street legal days.

Must get there early or the line gets out of control.

The price for Street legal is $50! Seems a little high. Gates open at 0700, Racing starts at 0900. Dont know what Test and tune costs. But if it is the same price, dont know if I will go both days. The track has been closed for quite a while, so it will probably be jammed! The weather is forcast to be high of just below 80 degrees. Still debating on whether to go. I will probably go one day, The street legal day. Should be less crowded then also having the "pros" there also.

But daytime racing, meh. I do not do well in the sun. Very tough since I have/had melanoma. Me and the sun do not get along.

Wow, this is good news!  I wonder what happened to the property owner behind the track that petitioned to shut it down? Only house for miles but he somehow threw a wrench in the drags for last couple years. About 8 years ago when I was a regular, the track bought lights and was gonna do Friday night drags which wouldn't conflict with Irwindale 1/8th and was a stellar plan :thumb: I'm not a drag racer anymore since I started road racing (12 seconds of WOT or 20 MINUTES of WOT, turning, braking....) but I'd be up for a pass or three in the ExSport to see if I could dip it into the 13's like the fast guys :notworthy:

You guys doing Saturday or Sunday?

I believe the house is still there, the raceway had built a half-mile sound wall between the drag strip and the railroad tracks.

The group called "CcoMPRESS" (Concerned Community Members and Parents of Redwood Elementary School Students) had petitioned to have the strip shutdown. But thanks to the NHRA, SEMA and K&N racing has resumed! For now lol.

I heard that the property owner has been bought out.Probably his plan all along.Thats California, one person can affect hundreds with a frivolous lawsuit.
