FUEL DOOR

O.K lets give it one more try because of the lack of input a while back,and the question is very easy peasy,when locking your vehicle and setting the alarm on,does the fuel door lid lock because mine does not lock it can be acessed by anyone making it more vulnerable,can anyone verify this feature for me,if so is true a locking gas cap is in order.  Z

I am pretty sure it doesn 't, hope I am wrong.  I figure they thought the capless design is good enough!  Used to "lock" in my '95, nothing a screwdriver couldn't manage though

My 10 does not lock.
I use a locking gas cap. Not taking any chances.

Locking cap is a good plan why take chances these days.  I got a locking cap on my Escape in 2011 and it has followed me from Escape  two Taurus SEL and now to the SHO  Best $25 spent.  I figure if it costs me $25 to find out someone can't get in then so be it.

Not to thread jack but in a "somewhat" related question do any of you guys in the 2013+ crowd get the "honk noise" occasionally associated with letting off the the throttle (under part throttle conditions).  I used to get it all the time in my 2011 but I just realized with the 2013/V8 tune that sound is completely gone...not that I'm complaining.

ecoboostsho... I do occasionally get a "honking" sound instead of "pfffffftt" since I went VTA... It is the BOVs not a gas cap.  Only under certain conditions.

Lol...I totally know its the Blow off valves (honest). The honking reference just reminded me of it is all. I should have posted as a separate topic so my bad.  My 2011 would "honk" all the time when tuned but my 2013 is always quiet.

LOL... Thought you did! I just think how glad I am not to run that CC blowby and other yuk a second time through my turbines (especially the front one) every time I hear it and just smile!
