Full hard pipe CAI from FastLaneTurbo 3.5 EB

Just FYI if you buy an intake that pulls air from inside the engine compartment myself, EB Bob and others found that you lose .2 and 2MPH in the 1/4 mile.
The stock intake with a stock filter beat a $300 intake repeatedly at the track...
So pretty intake but you just lost 20HP.
Function > Form for me.

Cold Air Intakes Mythbusted

I had quizzed Bob on this before he left the site.  I don't think he installed his at the track, which I did.  You can't compare two different days, as conditions(temp, track prep, humidity) are never the same.  I never did get an answer?  According to my unscientific testing I gained, but very marginally. Bought the Airad and installed it at the track.  I made a pass stock, then installed the intake.  My results were a net gain of .05ths and .3mph.  Definitely not a loss of 2ths and 2mph.

I ran back to back tests sane night switching back and forth with same results.

You lost 2ths and 2 mph?  I definitely didn't experience this.  But it's simple enough to swap, and I go to the track quite often.  I'll bring my stock box/stock filter to the next outing, and try again.  If for some odd reason I pick up 2ths and 2mph, my K&N will be forsale.

I did, I even called the owner of the company as we're friends. It's not a bad intake but if you want the best ET then for the track go back to stock with my findings.
BTW, here's John SCRMNG test as well, same night

Just curious, how many runs did you make with the different configurations? I believe the results you got but I wonder about sample size, not just with your results but with everyone making statements about how the intakes impact their performance.

I will.  Probably also do a Unleashed vs. LMS tune.  Just need to get back to the track.

Is Fastlane in Houston ? Are they building this ? Are they doing any other EB stuff ? I can check them out !

Hey I work right by Fastlane I can check it out Monday probably if I have time. Thought it sounded familiar but didn't know they do anything for EB.

Nice to see another Houstonian around here. I'd be interested to see what they can do for EB as well.

Please do .. A question: how hard is it to remove the filter housing?  It doesn't need much use, but the ATF fill is under the box.

Initial pictures of new revised CAI installation on a SHO .
Heat Shield wth hood gasket is being fabricated. ....
Coating options for piping and shield coming ...
More pics and info soon ....

Mike at Fastlane is still deciding on being a Vendor .

curious to see what the heat shield will look like. Is there a way for a longer filter or to extend the intake to place the filter in the fenderwell ?

It looks like it will flow more than enough but will it help with keeping IAT's down also ?

I'd be interested in data results due to removal of the crazy snake of an intake that is current.

I think it looks great and powder coat black to match everything else under the hood, or whatever color you prefer. I may have to buy on of these when they are available.
