Gapped my Plugs... WOW!!!

I ordered my new plugs but they wont be here for a few days so I decided to check out the stock plugs. They were pretty far off from .030... About .043 or so. The car seems to run bit smoother but most people wont notice it. Maybe when I get the new plugs it will be a little better. The stock plugs have 30,000 miles on them.

Cool.  43 is quite a gap!  Was it worn that way you think?

I think so. They were all pretty even. They didnt look bad at all though. I am still changing them though.

Good idea.  My 528's were all at about 35.  But I figured if I was going to 30, I would pop for the 534's.

About the exact gap mine were. Any broken? Tap the bottom on the ground see it the insulater slides down like mine was

None were broken. All they had was a little soot build up from all the miles. I just cleaned them and gapped them and threw them back in.

Anyone have any experience with NGK plugs?

That is what I use ...

NGK  Iridium ix  LTR71X-11 stock # 6510

Thats good to know. I just got them today and will be putting them in soon. I have learned a ton from you guys thanks. I just now have to get up to par with the modding. It has begun...

I have 13 sho pp,manuel states to use sp-528 which gap at 0.30,after reading all articles here majority members favor the updated version sp 534,which I also orderd for future use, they have same part # on plugs as the sp-528 which cost more, and harder to find just box is diffent, also give LIVERNOIS A+++++ for recommending everyone to use a step colder plugs gapped 0.30,my original wew all  at 0.35-0.37 and pretty cooked with 6,000 mi, on tune, lesson learned.

Last year on theire website, they recommended using mcsp-528 one step colder than stock, now they changed it,but im not familiar with that part#,but its not mcsp-534 or sp-528.
