Just FYI;

My speed shot who did my springs and wheels quoted me $1570 to install and purchase my Evo gauges--that is (1) Boost, (1) Oil Pressure, (1) AFR, and (2) EGT. Includes the oil filter plate for sensing.

You can use this as an example too.

Man I need a second job! LOL :)

This is why I am happy I am good at working with electrical and mechanical stuff.  Paying for installation gets pricy quick

Yea, I'll agree, having that forte to complete your own install, definitely helps quite a bit. But you still have the costs of product fabrication still.

In my case, my install cost(s) were below average due to the fact that i've developed an incredible repoir with my mechanic over an almost 10yr period.

He knows i'm a weekend gear head & allows me to assist with installs at his shop. Unusual in this day & age, but as he explained one day "you're by no means the typical customer. I enjoy working with you cuz you stay out of my way when necessary, and you have an incredible, underdeveloped skill talent."

He also said that the work I bring him, is refreshing, as it's "fun stuff" that rejuvenates him, & gives a break from the monotony of day to day routine repairs.

Amen, Mike you can't understate the value of having a good relationship with your mechanic.  I have a great relationship with my Ford dealer, and they still passed on installing my gauges.  I am totally surprised that I haven't been able to find a mechanic around here willing to install or help me install my gauges (once I decide on which ones I'm getting), so having someone who is willing to assist you and whose work you can trust is almost priceless.

Your lucky to have a mechanic like that. my backup is my uncle who is a mechanic at a ford dealer. He is always pissed when I need his help or have to pick his brain.

Has anyone looked at finding a  pillar pod for another vehicle that is similar may be easyier to modify to make work possible cheeper

I wouldn't be paying for installs if I didn't live here--my house/garage/lift/tools are all back in Texas.

So, instead I pay people--but of course I have a sparkly personality that tends to get me what I want, kind like tits on a woman. What can I say, I'm good in business.

Don't be so hard on him; I'm the same way. Don't ask me a f'n thing about IT--I do it for 14 hours a day, every day, I have no interest in helping you fix your **** or tell you what computer is the right one to buy.

All my friends know better than to call me. OH, damn, yeah I'm a ****, ass, arrogant ****--pick your word.

:)

Oh dang.

Sorry, won't happen again Officer.

Sent from a mobile, I think.

Awsome thx.

Wish I still did a overnight in Naperville might have been able tocheck out your sweet ride in person.  Instead im stuck in rockford lame

Shite; not big choices with EVO's--but I got it figured out.

Don't laugh; I'm weird.

A-Pillar; Oil Pressure and Boost Pressure --- har har it will be "pressure gauges"

Center; EGT left and right with Oil temp --- har har it will be "temp gauges"

SHAZzom.

NOW; I am considering doing what H&R did (or whoever it was) and installing two gauges up by my sunglass holder. One being transmission temp and maybe something else.

I can't believe you guys aren't buying Aeroforce guages.  If you aren't monitoring knock with a modified boosted setup, you aren't seeing the big picture.

THIS!! And the fact that you merely plug them in with out all that wire and hose running is worth the little bit of money. Very much worth the price for the ability to monitor just about anything, IMO.
