Getting dealers to fix the TSB involving the "clunky" downshifts ect...

http://www.bgfindashop.com/locator/index.php

A cost effective way to tackle this would be to find a dealer that offers BG cleaning services above and then mentioning the TSB to the dealer. I would bring up the fact that since it is a known issue and they're going to be in there for the BG cleaning service they should install the parts for you for free (technically not free since that $100 diagnostic fee would go towards a repair anyway). Buy the parts online for yourself for under $30 and arrive to the dealer with them or order the parts through them.

One thing I want to mention, I too have been having this occasional issue and know the TSB hasn't been done on my vehicle yet. Today I decided to blend e85 so I did 1 gallon e85 and 6 gallons 93, ended up with around e20 and to be honest the transmission feels smooth as butter. I can confirm this further through use of the paddle shifters as the issue was more prominent while using them, it is as well shifting smooth.

Non issue and I have no idea why any dealership wouldn't do that. Warranty pay isn't great and that would actually help make the job worthwhile.
That's what I thought too.  But I ran into an immovable wall with this, could've just been the SA or could be the dealership, don't know.

Intend to do some longterm testing?  More and more people are finding a bit of e85 in the mix helps "transmission" or "knock" issues.  Though FoMoCoSHO has dialed back to E15 for his daily :)

I've had all the TSB's done for 4 yrs now. This clunking on downshift happens when I'm running stock, especially worse after a ECU reset ( battery unhook). Once driven for a month or so, it lessens.

SHOdded, I asked High Command about your specific circumstance and she indicated there would be no policy keeping them from doing this, and in situations like yours they suggest things like you wanted to their guests. She said the only way it would cause any issue is if they were scheduled tight and you suggested the extra work upon arrival. Of course at her d-ship they would figure out how to accommodate your request but it seems like there are many that are too lazy to give a crap.

I'll try a different service advisor next time, maybe I'll get lucky :)  Or else a different dealership altogether.  The number of times they had the top and sides off the engine, they could easily have done belts, chains, tensioner, spark plugs etc. all for the cost of what they normally charge for a spark plug job!

I'm sorry for the ignorance but what exactly is TSB lol? Just bought my SHO 3 days ago and I'm lurking around trying to learn as much as possible.

Thanks!
