Getting Dirty with Some E30!

Testing is a continual process for us here at LMS. So this morning started out with us firing up our all-wheel and rolling in the RS. We wanted to do e testing. With the amazing local weather today our testing with e30 (might be closer to 35 to be specific) yielded some pretty cool stats!

As you can see above, the fuel pumps seem to be okay. AT THIS POINT, everything is good, but this is with today's temps ~81°. This will not be so as the temps dip, or in our case nose dive in a few weeks. The thing to remember is that the EB platforms are not particularly happy trying to keep up with the 138% VS pump gas. And this is why we do not recommend relying upon any e mix that is above and beyond the normal e10 that we are sold.

Obviously something that is also insanely important would be knock. Good news here as well! Knock seems to be good. So good in fact that the car allows for an additional 4° down low, and also an additional 1-2° up towards the top of the powerband!

What did today produce? Our impromptu tuning session resulted in a peak gain of 19whp and 20wtq ABOVE OUR 93 PERFORMANCE TUNING which is already the most powerful tuning around!

Yeah I think Ford continues to upgrade, at least 2013 on.  My concern would be longterm E fueling on seals and lines.

The only thing I worry about is the possibility of the "black goo" the mazdaspeed guys encountered above E50 but its completely different hardware and our HPFP is rated for full E-85.

I suspect there will be some gen 4.1's running E tunes shortly as well with no issue.
 
Yeah, I guess time will tell.  I mean if you go E for the track, should be pretty sustainable.  Daily driving will prove out over time IF any issues that arise are actually investigated.
 
So I noticed gtrs are using mechanical pump connected to the drive pulley to get hp above 1000 on e85

On graph one, are we looking at dsd/actual fuel pressure and RPM?

The RS is hitting 2900 PSI?

And on graph two, I assume your gear is opposite SCT so positive is the knock sensor adding timing?

So a wee bit of KR on tip in then it starts adding quickly to 4 degrees then tailing off but still adding up top?

The RS has a COMPLETELY different fueling system than the other EB vehicles, and yes it is capable of hitting 2900. However, that is its peak in this weather. The ECM allows for an additional 4° down low, and an additional 1-2° up top.

That's an order of magnitude off from the kind of pressures we need for DI. GTR's are using regular port injection, not direct injection like the EcoBoost motors.
