After looking at older logs today I discovered I ran a un-official non-track 12.66 to 105mph on pump gas so now I am VERY serious about dropping engine bay temps, coolant temps and cylinder head temps.
All of my other logs put me above 13.xx times.. with 230f+ in the cylinders, 130-160f+ IAT2 despite sub 60f ambient air. So heat soak is MURDERING this car...
A older trick back in the day was to cut downward angled vents into the front wheel plastic guards to remove heat from the engine bay. So what is behind that front wheel forward section weather guard on our SHO's?
I hate the idea of doing the 170' thermostat. but i think i will just have to suck it up and do it .. but for now if i can vent more hot air at lower speeds i'm going there 1st.
Thoughts on what is behind the plastic wheel liner is it engine bay or sheet metal?
ideas besides cutting holes in the hood to lower engine bay temps ?
