It is a major issue, I've decided. I have thought about building a web site with user-submitted wheel weights, to get this under control. Like people submit photos of their wheel on a scale and I track the specs on a huge live searchable database as it goes.
You can also call a place and have them tell you the weight, or take the shipping weight less a few cardboard box lbs.
