good performance exhaust and still quiet ?

I have Catless downpipes, and removed the 3rd cat, and the rest exhaust is stock. Inside the car, it sounds bone stock, outside the car, you can hear the turbos spool a little bit, and when my friend went WOT while driving it for me while I stood in a parking lot, really reminded me a G35. I later went with bigger exhaust tips, but that obviously doesnt change anything. lol

oh man are those videos you can get to work ?!?!? What a tease  lol

how was the added performance with your downpipes / cats delete only ? also what did you put in place of your third cat ? X pipe or straight pipes ?

I sold my G35 to get the SHO but I always loved how my G35 Sedan sounded with a coupe resonator. That VQ sounds soooooo damn good for a 6. It was a decently moded AWD sedan and I raced it against my wife rolling in the SHO while it was stock, and she stepped on my nuts ha ha

HA GUYS. I have the DynoMax mufflers with custom 2.5" pipes with Magflow 2.5"x-pipe. The DynoMAX come in a axle back kit (in 2011) only, and they only claim a better sound from them. I like the performance sound but the wife and I have a agreement that for road trips in put the stock mufflers back on and by ear sound stock. Happiness at home on the road.
.
Sound check with d-pipes , x-pipe, 2.5" exhaust  pipes and DynoMax mufflers.

I watched a ton of your videos and your SHO definately sounds good. I just don't want to add any or very much at all exhaust sound especially if it doesn't add decent power.

Kolk1... What I noticed most in your pics was a stellar job blacking out the plastic chrome surrounds on the tail lights... Love it.  :thumb:

It takes less than 30min to change from stock back DynoMax . So I go quit when ever I need to and quit does not seem to hurt hp.(never dyno with stock muffler and MOD's)

I know... gen around $900,  It's not quiet, but I'm considering having a boost activated exhaust cutout built.  There's some bucks... $400 for the actual valve and about $1200 for the H/(?X?) piping on the duals.  It will have to wait until i pay Santa for Christmas..... but it is way sexy! Here's a video of it working on 4Dr's Flex...

I live in Conroe if you're familiar with that area. I moved down here from Denton in North Texas in 1996 to go to Sam Housto State and stayed down here. I've been to Alvin a few times over the years :)

I'm from Denton, born a raised. Though, I live in Fort Worth now, Denton will always be home. :)

:offtopic: I know... :sorry:  IHeart, I knew I liked you, we're both just crazy Texans ... I love TX from DFW/Denton to Padre and over to the Sabine, although I can drive a lot faster around Midland/Odessa or in the Big Bend. LOL

I lived and worked at Big Bend National Park from 2007 to 2010.  Miss it very much!

DJ... you caught the crazy Texan bug. I first did Chisos Basin camping in about '65. It is cool as are the hot springs. Alpine is a little far for beer though.. LOL

that worked sounds great ! prob even seems a little louder in these vids  bc it's in your garage too ?

Love the turbos on the cold start.  I'm hoping to do the down pipes and 3rd cat delete myself.  Might even go catless dps.  Out here in the country they don't test.  I could just save the stockers for an emergency.

By just removing the third cat I can now hear the turbo's at start up.  When the idle slows down you hear them slowing down...pretty cool.  My one only 60 dollar exhaust mod.  LOL

Yea, you actually hear the fans pretty loud in the video. Im in a garage, and the garage door is closed about 2 feet away from the rear bumper. lol

We moved to Denton when I was 12 or 13.  Went to Congress Jr. High, then graduated from DHS in 1986.  Went to SWT in San Marcos.

Lot's of people from Denton on here.

Back on subject.  I'm thinking of going uncatted downpipes and deleting the 3rd cat.  But as others have said the $$$ for the offroad down pipes are crazy.  Same set up for Mustangs is $250-500 with an H pipe.  Limited market I presume.

is there a good performing set up (adds good power) but still has a quiet sound ?

I could handle just a tad louder than stock, but I don't want it loud or sound obviously modified.
Catted or catless downpipes with stock exhaust, 20 HP, no major rumble. :)
