993, almost 1000 DA, not too bad, but at 0, it would have been 0.1 sec faster.crash712us said:according to drag times the DA at great lakes drag way 993 @ 4:53pm

Then there is the wind that still is a mistery.
But just cooler temps or better DA = -0.1 second
Low fuel tank = -0.1 second
Better tires and H&R springs == -0.1 second
So, that car should be able to run a good 12.85 sec at close to 110 mph. Or 12.95 sec. without any other mods, just on a better day...
That's what is fun, when you'll reach the 12's you will be even happier, since it ain't that easy...
Courier6 said:The fuel load and ambient temp was not ideal for you. I run with 1/8 tank or less and ran a 12.796 in my 2011 at 55 degrees and 12.809 with my 2013 at 60 degrees, both with the Livernois 4+ tune, only difference is downpipes on my 2013. So...............lose the weight, and get some temps in the 50's and I see 12.something in your future! I get my best launches between 2k and 2200, "advance-trac" off, and with the shift lever in "D", not in "S".
@1 it was 1336 and @ 3 was 1135DJE624 said:crash712us said:according to drag times the DA at great lakes drag way 993 @ 4:53pm
Thanks Chris! I'll have to look that info up. I was there between about 1 and 3. It was a few degrees warmer then. Anything under 1000 isn't too bad is it?

Hey Dave!
Sorry you didn't reach the 12's this weekend, but there is still hope. I didn't go to see the DA, but I presume it could be cooler and the wind a bit more cooperative right?
Also, the gas tank being 3/4 full, that is almost 0.1 sec just there.
The Eibach aren't the H&R... It is a good in between sport and comfort, but H&R do launch a bit firmer and maybe the aerodynamics play a bit at one point.
Finally, I have my questions regarding the K&N... I drove Bigpelo's car the other day. We couldn't get his car to get in the 12's neither and he has the K&N. It surely makes more noise (which I prefer over the Airaid that is much quieter). However, for a reason that I can't explain, I felt his car was sluggish... But I didn't compare apples with apples since my ride has H&R, exhaust, downpipes and methanol in addition to the tune only that he has along with his K&N...
Could it be possible that the K&N is just a noise maker, but actually not optimal?
Lastly, what are your tires? If you have 4 seasons or F1, for sure they are not good for drag racing.
Good luck for next time!

Does anyone have a picture showing the knock sensor and where the wires touch the manifold? On my last run Sunday, I thought the nanny was kicking in. Near the top of first gear I suffered a major loss of power. I wonder if this could be the cause. The other runs were fine and it's been running fine since but I'd like to check it out. Thanks!
